JONES, Mrs. Martha - Age 83, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Granny's Place in Flint. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, February 7, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906, W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Jessie McIntosh, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Monday. Mrs. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM Sunday.Mrs. Martha Ann Jones was born in Greenville, Kentucky on August 19,1938 the daughter of the late Mrs. Louella (Robinson) Morris and the late Mr. Howard Robinson. Martha moved to Flint, Michigan in 1957. In 1966, Martha married William Jones, her high school sweetheart, a match truly made in heaven. Martha and William went on to have 2 children, William Derrick Jones and Kevin Howard Jones. She was a salaried employee with General Motors until her retirement September 1, 1992. Martha was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost. She loved the church and was associated with the United Methodist Church for many years. She has been a longtime member of Charity United Methodist Church where she also served as the Church treasurer for many years. Her faith was unwavering. Martha loved watching a good basketball game. Her love for basketball grew from being a cheerleader in high school and later marrying William, the star basketball player of the school team. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, William C Jones; son, Kevin H Jones; mother and step-father, Mrs. Louella R. Morris and Reverend Donald E Morris; father, Howard Robinson; sister, Allene Saulsberry; half-brother and his wife, Mr. Charles and Earnestine Robinson. Mrs. Martha Ann Jones leaves to cherish her memory: son, William D Jones of Flint; brother, Howard O Robinson of Detroit, Michigan; sister-in-law, Ebbie McCoy of Bowling Green, Kentucky; special cousin and family, Linda (Kenya) Appling and children, Kenya II and Kenyanna; special friends, Dixie Smith, Jean Maxwell, Teresa May, Dr Ellen Johnson, Denise Royster, Hazel Miller, Larry Gadson; also many other close family and friends. Martha Ann Jones, mother, sister, cousin, friend, you are greatly missed. However, your love remains to comfort us all. Rest, rest in the peace you so much deserve.
