HARRIS, Mr. Mario Danyal Sr. - Age 56, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2021. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, November 27, 2021 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptists Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Pastor Patrick Sanders Sr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Harris will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday with the family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Mario Danyal Harris was born November 26, 1964 in Flint, MI to the late Clinton J. Harris and Elisabeth Ann Harris, Mario was a 1982 graduate of Flint Central High School were he was in ROTC, played Football, and was on the Wrestling team. After graduating from high school he moved to Atlanta GA. in 1984, while in Atlanta he started working after being there for several years the love of his life and their daughter came to be with him. He started playing Football for Atlanta Gators Football Team (running back) After being there for years they made the decision to move back to Flint, MI, where he started working as a supervisor in shipping and receiving, after working in Madison Heights for years, he transferred to the Flint location where he became the shipping and receiving Manager. Mario retired from the Company he loved after working 25 years , in December 2020, he and Sabrina were enjoying themselves. Mario coached Football, Basketball and Track at Hamady High School for many years. Mario would support all his nieces and nephews and friends' kids in all sports. He would try and make everyone games, from football, basketball, track, soccer, whatever the sport or activity was Mario was there. Mario also did security for Thomas Magee's in Detroit, and security for other events in the Detroit area. Mario loved having family cookouts at his home, traveling, Mario had a huge passion for all sports and coaching, Mario Loved his family dearly and showed it as a devoted, compassionate, kind respectful Loving Man. Mario gave his time raising, mentoring and teaching responsibility to every young person he came in contact with: not only by words but by example. Mario had a loving and firm but fair Heart. Mario grew up as a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, Then he relocated his membership to Grace Cathedral Community Church where he was a Deacon, Security Guard, Maintenance, Choir and groundskeeper Board. Mr. Mario Harris leaves in God's Care to Cherish his Memory and Continue in this Life: The Love of his life; wife of 32 years, Sabrina Harris; 1 son, Mario Harris II; daughter, SaQuoya Harris; 3 sisters, Linda (Terry) Edwards, and Mandy Harris and Pya Flanagan; 3 grandchildren, Sakiyra, Mario III and Baby Marece Harris; mother and father-in-law, Curie and Mary Richards; brother-in-law Tremelle Richards; 4 nephews, Terrence, Tyler, T.J and Tahj Edwards; 4 nieces, Keyana, Khydea, Kezia Flanagan and Antaycia (Tay-Tay) Richards; 3 uncles, Arthur (Christine) Chambers of Phenix City, AL, Hillard (Mary) Harris of Detroit, MI and Paul (Ozzie) Harris of Flint; 3 aunts, Carrie Allen , Jo-Ann and Carla Harris all of Flint; 1 great-aunt, Eula Williams of Detroit, MI; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; special sister, Nancy Marshall Solan, and special good friends, Kalvin Smith, Tyrone Houston, Drew Williams, Nate Williams, Chane Clingman, Chris Ewald, Todd Waters, Demetrius Witherspoon and Louis Becoats Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his father, Clinton J. Harris; mother, Elisabeth Ann Harris; grandfather, Luther Harris; grandmothers, Katie B. Harris and Lucinda Moss; 6 uncles; 4 aunts and ;1 brother-in-law, Steven Richards, and many more relatives and friends. The Family would like to express Special Thanks to Pastor Kelly C.
