Mrs. Laura Louise Mayfield

MAYFIELD, Mrs. Laura L. - Age 101, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at The Landing of Genesee Valley in Flint Township. Family hour1:30 PM Thursday, February 24, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with memorial service commencing at 2:00 PM, Pastor Jevon Catlett, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home, 1:30 PM Thursday. There will be no public viewing. Mrs. Laura Louise Mayfield was born April 30, 1920, in Lake Ridgley, Tennessee, the daughter of Lee Perkins and Coszett Burnett. Laura was a resident of Flint, Michigan and a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Senior Usher Board. She was employed by A.C. Spark Plug, a division of General Motors Corporation for many years. Laura loved to cook, make quilts, and work with flowers. She also loved to listen to the radio on Sunday morning with Sam Williams. Mrs. Laura Louise Mayfield leaves to cherish her memory: special friends, Jerry and Rosalee Minor of Burton, MI; niece, Chantel Jones; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church family, Earnest and Nancy Pouncy, Robert and Barbara Welch. Mrs. Mayfield was preceded in death by her husband, Union James Mayfield; mother, Coszett Burnett; and father, Lee Perkins.
