SYKES, Mr. Kivon - Age 30, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour Saturday, June 18, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 9906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM., Pastor Samuel Berry III, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 1:30 PM Saturday. Mr. Sykes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Mr. Kivon Louis Sykes Sr. was born November 20, 1991 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Larry Sykes and Renee Anderson. Kivon was a resident of Flint and attended Flint Community Schools. He graduated from Flint Beecher High School. Kivon was a Cook for Hungry Howie’s Pizza and owner of Sykes Lawncare Elite. He enjoyed his old school cars with his sons and spending time with family and friends. Kivon also enjoyed Stock Trading and Crypto Currency. Mr. Kivon Louis Sykes Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: mother of his children, Kiera Bates; 3 sons, Kivon Sykes Jr., Kiran Sykes and Ki’Air Sykes, all of Flint; parents, Larry (Kimberly) Sykes and Renee (Cedric) Anderson; sister, Qwenyatta Anderson; 3 brothers, Larry (Kenya) McBride of Orlando, FL, Deshawn (Faith) Dawson and Martell (Tierra) Sykes, all of Flint; step-sisters, TeMika Osborne of Southfield, MI and Tasha and Tanisha Osborne, both of Flint; step-brother, Marvin Savage; 5 nieces, Arianna McBride of Lansing, MI, Hope Pitts, Riley and Ryan Dawson, Manila Prince, all of Flint; 4 nephews, Terrell McBride of Davison, MI, Cameron Reeves and Dominique Calloway, Martell Sykes Jr., all of Flint; great-niece, Annaira McBride of Lansing, MI; 3 aunts, Delisa (Joe) Byran, Ella Bransford and Hattie Harriston, all of Flint; 5 uncles, George (Rethon) Sykes Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Clifton (Barbara) Sykes, Micheal (Lavern) Anderson, all of Flint, Frank (Yolanda) Anderson Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Derrick (Crissy) Anderson of Mississippi; a host of cousins including special cousin, Deairris Anderson; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Sykes was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Victoria Campbell and Martha Sykes; grandfathers, George Sykes Sr., Frank Anderson Sr. and Alva Campbell; uncles, J.B. and Mack Sykes; nephew, Micheal “Doc” Dawson.
