Mrs. June Myra Monroe

October 26, 1956 - March 23, 2022

MONROE, Mrs. June Myra - Age 65, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Acension Genesys Hospital. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, April 2, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Saturday. Mrs. Monroe will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mrs. June Myra Pringle Monroe was born October 26, 1956, in Flint, Michigan. She was the daughter of David and Willie Ann Pringle, and the second of two children. She attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Southwestern High School in 1975. Not only that, but she went on to graduate from Tennessee State University. June worked several years as a Substitute Teacher for the Flint Community Schools, where she was a favorite at Civic Park Elementary. June married her best friend, William “Marty” Monroe, in 1983. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her four children, Marty, Jr., Celena, David, and Bernard. June was a sweet and compassionate person who was loved by everyone she met. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her love for children was known throughout the neighborhood, and she was referred to as the neighborhood “Mom.” Mrs. June Monroe leaves to cherish her sweet memory: husband, William “Marty” Monroe; daughter, Celena Monroe; sons, David Monroe (Trina) and Bernard Monroe; step-son, William Monroe Jr, of Atlanta Ga.; grandson, Bernard Monroe Jr.; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends. Mrs. Monroe was preceded in death by parents, David and Willie Ann Pringle; sister, Edna Monroe; and niece, Roshetta Ann Monroe. The family wishes to thank you for all the many kind expressions of love and for everything you have done to support and encourage us.
