Mrs. Johnnie M. Davis Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

DAVIS, Mrs. Johnnie M. - Age 93, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Davis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Monday, January 3, 2022 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mrs. Johnnie M. Davis was born February 18, 1928 in Selma, Alabama, the daughter of Howard Jones and Mammie Shannon Hall. Johnnie was preceded in death by both parents. She attended high school in Albion, Michigan, graduating in 1949. Johnnie accepted Christ at an early age. After graduation she moved to Flint, Michigan to work and was employed at Fisher Body, a division of General Motors Corporation for 30 years before retiring. She met the love of her life, Mr. Thomas J. Davis in the year of 1959 and were happily married for 56 years. Johnnie was very active in church. She was a member of the Senior Choir, Missionary Mission, True Light Mission, Inspirational Choir, Phoebean Circle, Dorcas Circle, Wednesday Noon Prayer Band and the Coordinator for the North End Soup Kitchen Volunteers. For Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle, she loved to play the guitar and sing. Johnnie volunteered for the Hurley Medical Center Surgical Lounge for over 20 years. She loved the Lord, her church and fellow believers every where. Her favorite scripture was St. John 3:16. Johnnie and Dave loved to travel. They have traveled to many places, even out of the country. Her hobbies were sewing and spending time with family. Mrs. Johnnie M. Davis leaves to cherish her memory: granddaughter, Tashan (Arrad Brown) Tucker; great-grandchildren, Orraccious Tucker-Brown (Sheley Rembert), Qiyaamah Tucker, JoNaa Wilson and Tahrad Brown; great-great-grandson, Orraccious Tucker-Brown III; 4 nieces; 5 nephews; cousins, Beverly Bowden, Chris Bowden, David Bowden, all of Flint and Alberta Goodloe; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Davis; daughter, Teria Tucker; parents, Howard Jones and Mammie Shannon Hall; cousin, Ann Gardener; special friend, Gertie Wright.
