THOMPSON, Mrs. Jacqueline E. - Age 66, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Kith Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Elder Charles Richardson, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home, 10:00 AM Tuesday. Mrs. Thompson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. Public Viewing will be held only during the family hour.Mrs. Jacqueline Elaine Thompson “Jackie” was born December 10, 1955 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Norman Childress Sr. and Ardimichelle “Ardee” Childress. Jackie attended and graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1973.” In 1976, she married Chester Thompson. She began working at General Motors Corporation and retired in 1994 after 18 years of service. Jackie was fun and so young at heart. She loved spending time with children and grandchildren, going shopping and spending nights watching scary movies with them. Jackie also enjoyed frying and eating seafood, playing cards, and hanging out with family and friends. She looooved her dogs, Sandy and Meme. Mrs. Jacqueline Elaine Thompson leaves to cherish her memory: 2 sons, Quomon Thompson and Theodore (Tara) Childress; 7 grandchildren, Tara Stanley of Texas, Arsand Childress Jr. of Arizona, Airiana Childress of Michigan, Ashari Childress of Georgia, Aniya and Amarria Childress, both of Michigan; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Phyllis and Sandra Childress; 2 brothers, Phillip and Norman Childress; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved her including special friend, Lawrence Morris and her casino buddy, Verdell Carmen. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Thompson; beloved son, Arsand Childress; parents, Norman Childress Sr. and Ardimichelle “Ardee” Childress; 3 aunts, Cleo Dobson, Veletta Walthall and Alice Love; 4 uncles, Preston, Charles, Don and JP Smith. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren Hospice, Kith Haven staff, her sister, Phyllis Childress and all that visited and loved on her.
