LOGAN, Mr. George Jr. - Age 87, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his residence. Family hour 1:00 PM Friday, January 14, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM, Pastor Douglas Banks, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home, 1:00 PM Friday. Mr. Logan will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM, Thursday. Masonic Services will take place 6:30 PM Thursday January 13, 2022 and 1:30 PM Friday, January 14, 2022 at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. Mr. George Logan Jr. was Honorably Discharged from United States Navy. On May 19, 1934, George Logan Sr. and James Anna Logan gave birth to a son, George Logan Jr., in Crawfordsville, Arkansas. George Logan Jr. entered into eternal life on December 21, 2021. He is a man of remarkable stature and organization. He attended the Technician School in Flint, Michigan and was commissioned as an Electrician in the United States Navy where he was Honorably Discharged and subsequently served in the Navy Reserve. George Logan Jr. is a Veteran of Foreign Wars (Korean War). While in the Navy, George met the love of his life, Eleanor Marie Pendleton, in Newport, RI at a fashion show. They married on June 8th 1954 and to this union 2 daughters were born; Sheilah and Teraisa. George spent much of his career progressing in positions at the United States Postal Service. He also attended the USPS Management Academy in Potomac, MD. He worked in several positions including Railroad Transportation, Postal Operations Specialist, and Tour Superintendent USPS Flint and Saginaw, MI up until the time of his retirement on November 30, 1989. George Logan Jr. was very active and proud of the service he provided within the Prince Hall Masons as a dedicated member of The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge. Past Master of John W. Stevenson Lodge #56, Oman Temple #72, HPIP, Past Imperial Deputy of the Oasis, Past Potentate, and a dedicated member of the United Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of the Free and Accepted Masons PHA. George was an active member of Vernon Chapel AME Church, and a contributor to many charitable causes including Easterseals and St. Jude, just to name a few. George a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and cousin is survived by: daughters, Sheilah Walton and Teraisa Patterson; brother, Charles Logan of Martinsburg WV; sister, Mary Alice Branch; sister-in-law, Lois Remong of Newport RI; grandchildren, Kharee, Cyan, and Amar Patterson of Lilburn GA, and Ethan Walton of Denver, CO; great-granddaughter, Zaya; nieces, Cherry Grant, Faye Renae Logan of Macomb, MI, and Lenise Branch; nephews, Anthony Branch (wife Tawana), James, Jason, Jamel, Myron and Timothy Logan; many loving family members and friends of the extended Logan/Boyce/Dunkling families. George is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Marie Logan; parents, James Anna Dunkling and George Logan Sr.; stepfather, Arthur Dunkling; brothers, Earl Logan (wife Judy) and James Logan; sister, Dorothy Mae Logan; great-nephew, Andre Earl Branch; and son-in-law, Mark Patterson of Lilburn, GA.
