Mrs. Fay Crystal Rison

RISON, Mrs. Fay Crystal - Age 78, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Rison will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Fay Crystal (Washington) Rison was born September 27, 1943 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Isaac and Terradell (Hogan) Washington. She always loved and believed in the Lord. Fay accepted the Lord and was baptized at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a member for over 50 years. She graduated from Flint Southwestern High School, “Class of 1961.” Fay was a homemaker. In earlier years, when her health allowed her to, she also did babysitting for family members and friends. She also helped with taking care of sickly family members. Several of her children’s friends would call her Momma. Some would talk and confide with her. What was said to her stayed with her. Fay also gave to several charitable organizations including: Carriage Town Ministries, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Operation Smile. Fay’s hobbies were antique collecting, interior decorating and doll collecting. She enjoyed going to the Flint Institute of Arts, Sloan Museum, Sloan Auto Fest, and Back to the Bricks. She also enjoyed visiting Frankenmuth, doing Word Search Puzzles, watching mystery movies and almost 95% of the time would already have solved the mystery before the end of the show. Mrs. Fay Crystal Rison leaves to cherish her memory: 4 children, daughter, Terri Rison-Steve of Flint, Ernestine (Llewellyn Sr.) Wilson and Wanda Rison, all of Lansing, MI; step-son, Colin Rison of Flint; 6 grandchildren, Santoya (Billy Sr.) Roberson, Llewanda James, Llewellyn Wilson Jr., Armani Miller Sr., Ernest Wilson and Colin Rison; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Rita Washington and Anita Johnson; 3 sisters-in-law, JimElla Willis, Merdice (Van) Coleman and Patricia Morrison; 3 brothers-in-law, Clevester (Ramona) Rison, Webster Rison Sr. and Robert Rison; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special neighbors, Pam Folts and Sherry Johnston. Mrs. Rison was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. Rison; parents, Isaac and Terradell Washington. The family wishes to express special thanks to Pastor Rabon Turner and the Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church family as well as family and friends for their prayers and words of encouragement. The family would also like to thank the first responders.
