February 18, 1958 - December 11, 2021

MIXON-WINGFIELD, Mrs. Eunita - Age 63, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation(Briarwood). Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Elder George Conway, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbears will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Wedneesday. Mrs. Mixon-Wingfield will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mrs. Eunita “Nita” Mixon-Wingfield, age 63, made her transition from labor to reward on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Nita was born on February 18, 1958 in Flint, Michigan. She was the seventh daughter of Booker T. Mixon and Pecolia (Conway) Mixon. Nita accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Nita was educated through the Flint Community School System, attending Stewart Elementary and Whittier Junior High Schools. She graduated with Flint Southwestern High School’s Class of 1976. Nita furthered her education by attending Mott Community College, Baker College and Davenport University (formerly Detroit College of Business), which set her on a career path as a Payroll Specialist with the Hyatt Regency and Compliance Officer at GST Michigan Works (formerly Career Alliance). After working at Career Alliance for 10+ years, Nita went on to work for the Beecher Community School District. She held various positions at Beecher, from Administrative Assistant to classroom Paraprofessional. She often spoke of her most rewarding position as being that of the Summer Youth Program Coordinator where she helped Beecher Middle and High School students obtain summer jobs in the local community. Nita retired from the Beecher School System in 2021 to help care for her sister Helen. Nita enjoyed traveling, dining out with her family and friends and having guests in her home for holidays and birthdays. Most of all, Nita loved helping those in need. She loved the Lord and therefore loved His creations. Mrs. Eunita “Nita” Mixon-Wingfield leaves to cherish her precious memories: husband, Seeber Timothy “C-Dog” Wingfield Jr. of Flint; step-daughter, Sonia Pate of Woodhaven, MI; step-sons, Jamaal Timothy Wingfield of Flint and Terrence Timothy Walker of Jonesboro, AR; granddaughter, Phoenix “Fe-Fe” Wingfield of Flint; grandsons, JaTavion Haymer of Grand Blanc, MI, D’Aire Wingfield of Flint and Sean Carter Walker of Jonesboro, AR; sister, Evelyn Fay Mixon of Silver Spring, MD, Carolyn Jean Mixon, Sharon Michelle Mixon, both of Flint, Nikita (Kenneth) Franklin of New Haven, MI and Kimberly (Lloyd) Brown Coakley of St. Louis, MO; nieces, Cassondra Crowder of Baltimore, MD, Catrina Crowder of Mt. Morris, MI and Saundra Lynn Mixon; nephews, LaDarriss Mixon, Dr. Jonah Mixon-Webster, all of Flint, Reese Mixon of Silver Spring, MD, Blake Franklin and Dominic Franklin, both of New Haven, MI; great-nieces, Jasmine Crowder of Mt. Morris, MI, Myteah Crowder of Baltimore, MD, Tiara Burns of Kennesaw, GA, Lori Barfield of Dallas, TX and Tiesha Burns of Decatur, GA; great-nephews, Denairio Crowder of Baltimore, MD, Joseph Darnell Burns of Las Vegas, NV and Aaron Crowder Epps of Mt. Morris, MI; great-great-niece, LaBrea Burns of Decatur, GA; aunts, Mae Mixon of Ozan, AR and Eula Conway of Flint; uncles, Mitchell (Martha) Conway Sr., George W. Conway and Sherman Perkins, all of Flint; god-daughter, KaGia “KeKe” Phillips; god-son, Benjamin Cleveland III; a number cousins of the Mixon, Conway, Perkins, Keels, Baker and Gulley families; sister-in-law, Yvonne “Bonnie” Barfield; bonus sister, Shelley Reeves Thorn; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Theresa Billingsley, Kathy Cleveland, Peggy Phillips, Deborah Cleveland-Adams and Arneil Mosley. Nita was preceded in death by her parents, Booker T. and Pecolia Mixon; grandparents, Reese and Leola Warren Mixon, Mitchell and Everlee Conway; sister, Helen (Mixon) Raynor, Beatrice Crowder, Rosemary Mixon and Christa Elaine Mixon; niece, Tomisha (Mixon) Burns.
