JOHNSON, Mrs. Esther Lean - Age 85, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. Family Hour 10:00 AM Monday, February 14, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Supt. Eric C. Bogan, officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, 5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Monday. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday.Mrs. Esther Lean Johnson was born June 2, 1936 in Raymond, Mississippi, the daughter of John H. and Lula B. (Lindsey) Johnson. Esther was a resident of Flint, Michigan since 1952. She was married to Joseph O. Johnson for 26 years until his death in 1986. Eshter was a member of Deliverance Church Of God In Christ where she served as a Missionary and also served as President of the Usher Board. Esther was employed as a Chef at various restaurants. Her hobbies included Fishing and playing cards. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Esther has a 12th grade education. Mrs. Esther Lean Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Jacqueline Johnson of Flint and Patti (Ronald) Hall of DeSoto, TX; son, Joseph (Samatha) Johnson III; grandchildren, Dominic Johnson, Erdell (Dewayne) Younger, Stanley Johnson, Sierra Talton, all of Flint, Larry (Cherelle) Talton of Toledo, OH, Joseph Johnson IV, Senya Johnson of Fort Worth, TX, Shayna Johnson of Grand Prairie, TX, Sheena (Samuel) Austin and Ronald (Kienethia) Hall Jr., all of DeSoto, TX; great-grandchildren, Savannah Hall, Rylin Hall, Nia Lowe, Nadia Lowe, Naia Lowe, Nathan Lowe, Arianna Johnson, Amani Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Cameron Austin, Jana Johnson, Enos Stanley II, Marion Durrett, Maxi Durrett, all of Flint, Karrington & Jayda Daniel and Jayda Austin, all of DeSoto, TX and Kayla Prince of East Lansing, MI; sister, Mary Steward of Memphis, TN; a host of other relatives and friends including special nephews and nieces, Jon & Betty Kimble of Flint, Terry Payne of Chicago, IL, Brandy Hackett, Willie C.
