LOTT, Deacon Emeritus Nelson - Age 83, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at his residence. The Gathering (Family Hour) will be held 10:00 AM Monday, June 6, 2022 at First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1226 Beach St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Ezra L. Tillman, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery. 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Monday. Deacon Emeritus Lott will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Public Viewing will be held during the Gathering (family hour) only. Deacon Emeritus Nelson Lott was born June 15, 1938 in Shelby, Mississippi, the son of Nelson Lott, Jr. and Ethel Lee Gamble. He was a Christian from an early age. Nelson came to Flint, Michigan in 1956 from Clarksdale, MS. He was hired by General Motors Corporation in 1956. Nelson joined the First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church 1971. He was a part-time Resident Advisor for Genesee Valley Regional Youth Detention Center. Nelson coached football and basketball for the Beecher Men’s Club-Elementary Sports Program for several years. He retired from General Motors in 1986 after 30 years and planned to serve his Church which he did for 30 years. Nelson served as Deacon, Superintendent of Church School, Counselor for Young Men’s Ministry, Coordinator and Driver for the Church Van Ministry, Trustee, Treasurer, Kitchen Committee Member, Male Chorus Member, Leader/Member of the Joseph Circle in the Mission Ministry, Coordinator for the National Baptist Congress, Delegate to the District, State and National Congresses, Picnic Site Coordinator, Supervisor for the Sound System/Cassette Tape Recording, employed as Building Maintenance/Custodian 1989-2016. Deacon Nelson was affectionately called 9-1-1 or 1-800 Bro. Lott by First Trinity for always being of help and service whenever needed. Deacon Emeritus Nelson Lott leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife of 63 years, Brenda G. Lott; children, Charles (Vennette) Lott, Eric Lott, all of Flint, and Kimberlie (Lott) Norris of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Keisha (LeVar) Lott-Perkins, DeAndre Golden, Brandon (Jessica) Lott, all of Flint, Charles M. (Jacqueline) Lott Jr. of New York, NY, Daelon Norris of Columbus, OH and Tanisha Francis of Jamaica; great-grandchildren, Micheal and Mekhel Goss, Jhourni Lott-Hearst, Brandon Jr., Zeke, Josiah, Jeremiah Lott, all of Flint, Isaiah Ahlers, Matthew Grander II, Avery Granger, and Charles Lott III, all of New York, NY; god-children, LaDarriss Mixon of Flint, Arthur Vernon Doyle of Florida, Katrina Watkins of Nevada, Regina Peery and family of Georgia; brother, Lee F. Deacon Emeritus Lott was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Lott Jr. and Ethel Lee Gamble; step-mothers, Jeffella Lott and Frankie Lott; brothers, Rufus Vinson and Jackson Lott; and daughter, Deborah Lott-Golden.
