PITTMAN, Mr. Dwan - Age 60, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Family hour 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Rodney Murphy officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM Tuesday. Mr. Pittman will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday. Mr. Dwan Pittman was born May 10, 1961 in Scobey, Mississippi, the son of Nancy and Q.B. Miller. Mr. Pittman resided in Knoxville, Tennessee at the time of his passing. Dwan found Christ at an early age and was a member of Victorious Word Church of Flint, Michigan. Mr. Pittman attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Flint Central High School. He developed the skill of Professional Driving and was an Over The Road Truck Driver for over 36 years. His most recent employer was with Xfinity Trucking. Dwan was known for cooking, joking and spend time with his family. He loved traveling, Blues Music and enjoyed attending concerts. Mr. Dwan “Babay” Pittman leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Melissa Pittman of Knoxville, TN; daughters, Shayla Hughes of Canton, MI and Shari (Dimitrius) Shaw of Flint; son, Darius Pittman of Jeffersonville, IN; 5 bonus children, Cortez (Michelle) Barnes of Louisville, KY, Overson Jackson IV of Kentucky, Erica Williams of Louisville, KY, Terrell Nance and Teleshia Nance, both of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Darius Jr., Johnathon, Jaziah, Zaryah all of Jeffersonville, IN, Christian, Langston, Gabrielle, all of Flint, Serenity, Xavier and Jayceon, all of Canton, MI; 15 bonus grandchildren including: Terriante, Terrance and Tyriq of Kentucky; mother, Nancy Miller; sister, Claudette Pittman of Flint; 4 brothers, Rev. Woodrow (Bonita) Thompson of Flint, James (Sherita) Jones of Charlotte, NC, Q.B. (Cheryl) Pittman and Tommie Pittman, all of Flint; 8 nieces; 3 nephews; 2 aunts, Frances Pittman of Atlanta, GA and Gloria (Johnny) Carter of Chicago, IL; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, the Leverett’s, Darryl Jamar, Freddie Marshall and cousin, Lil Stanley. Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by: father, Q.B. Miller; brother, Timothy Miller; grandmothers, Ellen Thompson and Josie Miller; grandfathers, O.D. Thompson and Isaac Pittman; aunt, Shirley Thompson; uncle Warren Thompson; niece, Christina Thompson; and cousin, Wanda Motley.
