Mr. Price will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday. My name is Donald Ray Price, known to some as Don, known to others as Bubbie, known to a few more as Duck, and last, but not least known to some as Unc Deezy. I would like to first thank each and every one of you for all the love and support you’ve shown by joining together to celebrate my amazing life, and I would also like to apologize to you for leaving you here on earth; however, my work here has been completed. I received a call, well more like an offer, that I could not refuse; for an appointment from which I will not be returning. The call I received was an assignment which came with a huge sign-in bonus, in fact a reunion with my amazing mother, father, adorable sister, family and friends, no more worries, suffering, or pain. To say the least, I’ve achieved greatness and hope to see each and every one once they receive the call that comes without an offer! I was born to Helen Ingram Price and John Price. My journey in life began in Marietta, Oklahoma, January 2, 1956. At some point, I transitioned to Wichita, Kansas, and then to Flint, Michigan. I grew up with three lovely sisters (Karen, Vickie, Tonya) with me being the oldest. I attended school in Wichita, Kansas; however, I later received a GED once I transitioned to Flint. Throughout my lifetime and younger years, I worked several odd jobs with one being for the City of Flint. I spent much of my life battling mental health diagnosis and substance abuse addictions as I departed Flint as an adult and relocated to Bay City, Michigan. I resided in Bay City, Michigan for several years until I made a lifetime decision to come home to Flint to reside with my baby sister, Tonya, and my amazing niece Cha’Quinta, known to me as Pooh Bear. In my 65 years of living on this earth, I must say my last year was one of the best years of my life. I found myself, learned to forgive, and was surrounded by so much love and affection. I took great interest in spending quality time with my amazing caregivers as they went above and beyond the call of measure. Tonya and Cha’Quinta, I thank God for you, you are my angels as you rescued me when I had given up on life. Tonya, I will miss the car rides and manipulating you to stop at the gas station so I can obtain a scratch off. Tonya my dream was to hit big and buy you a much bigger house. Tonya, I am going to miss your cooking especially those tacos. Cha’Quinta, I will miss you keeping me up to date with the latest fashions, I enjoyed dressing up just to walk around the house or go to my doctor appointments. Cha’Quinta, it was the compliments for me. Kevin, I will miss the man-to-man conversations, you are taking me and keeping my haircuts up to date and manipulating you to obtain scratch offs for me. Kev, I will miss you taking me outside and walking with me up and down the street for fresh air and exercise. Alec, I will miss you and all the door-dash orders you provided me with as well as the conversations. MJ, (paw-niece), I will miss sneaking and giving you all my food when I no longer had an appetite to eat. MJ, although my physical body is no longer on this Earth, you can look at my bed; however, you are not allowed to get in my bed. I want everyone here to know my last year was the best, in fact I want everyone to know when I departed this earth, I was living a substance free lifestyle, to God be the Glory. I took great interest in spending time with my father (God). I loved to read my Bible with one of my favorite scriptures being Philippians 4:13. My other interests include spending time with my family, writing, listening to music (gospel, gospel rap), and listening to sermons of Bishop GE Patterson and Chris Taylor (Antioch Missionary Baptist Church). I loved the Lord! I am survived by four sisters Vickie (Gregory) Jones, Tonya Price of Flint, Mi, Karen Trezvant of Wichita, KS, Simone Price of Atlanta, GA, and Sherry Johnson of Kent, WA; two brothers, Simon Price and Justin Smith of Atlanta, GA; six nieces, Riana Buford of Washington, DC, Kanayko Buford of St. Louis, MO, JaQuaya Buford, Cha’Quinta Price, Geonika Jones, and Jasmaine Jones of Flint, Mi; six nephews, Trevor (Latoya) Buford of Douglasville, GA, Derry (Angela Buford), Gregory Jones Jr., Javon Jones, Kevin Tiggs Sr., and Alec Stribling all of Flint, Mi; numerous great nieces/nephews with one special great nephew, Kevin Tiggs Jr. of Flint, Mi; three aunts, Vestula Harris of Lewisville, MS, Edna Toles of Flint, Mi, and Glennell Chamberlain of Oklahoma City, OK; one great-aunt, Bernice Davis of Hattiesburg, MS; brother-in-law, Willie James Buford of Flint, Mi; one god-brother, Billy Anthony of Flint, Mi; special cousins more like brothers; William Reed, John Reed, Bryan Ingram, Darryl Bonner, and Cecil Ingram, a host of cousins and friends. I was proceeded in death by my amazing mother, Helen Price; father, John Price; sister, Karen Price; niece, Qeturah Jones; great-nephews, Deondrae Buford and Jimer Jones; maternal/paternal grandparents; and numerous aunts/uncles. I would like to express special thanks to Dr. Lisa Lindsay and staff, Dr. Geeta Rode and staff, Hurley Medical Center-4 East Nurses (Critical Care Unit), New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church family, and everyone who played an instrumental role in my celebration of life service. I transitioned from this world in Flint, Michigan on November 13, 2021, at Hurley Medical Center peacefully in my sleep with my two angels, Tonya and Cha’Quinta by my side. I want you all to be happy that after 65 years, I have fought the fight, ran the race, and reached the finish line. I will be waiting for all of you!!!!!
