JACKSON, Mr. Dennis Karl Sr. - Age 75, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Wellbridge of Fenton, Fenton, MI. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, December 11, 2021, from Shiloh Baptist Church, 2120 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Daniel Moore, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:30 AM Saturday. Mr. Jackson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be live streamed from Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Dennis Karl Jackson, Sr., “Denny”, “DK”, “Jack”, was born August 3, 1946, in Flint, Michigan, the eldest son of Leroy Jackson, Sr. and Erma V. Vaughn. Dennis graduated from Flint Central High School “Class of 1964”. After graduation, Dennis enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, receiving a Honorable Discharge. Dennis was employed at General Motors Corporation - Buick Division, retiring in 2008 with over 43.5 years of service. He received additional education by successfully completing his training to become a Massage Therapist, traveling to both Detroit and Canada to earn his certificate. Dennis was known as one of the “Best” Massage Therapist in town!! Dennis was an active member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, serving faithfully as an Usher and a member of the Men's Choir, “The Mighty Voices of Thunder”, where he also held several offices. Dennis boldly proclaimed his relationship with God, and he eagerly shared with others about the God he served! With a real zeal for life, Dennis had many interests in sports, but tennis was his one true sport. He also enjoyed exercising and riding his Classic 10 Speed Schwinn Bicycle. He had a love for music, especially Jazz. Dennis loved to love on people. He had the gift of communication and would engage anyone in conversation. He made friends of all ages, everywhere he went. A true gentleman, who greeted the ladies with a kiss and the men with a strong and firm handshake. Dennis was kind and compassionate, who honored the Lord, his family, friends, church and community. Dennis will forever be remembered for his beautiful smile, caring heart, loving embrace and his unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we will celebrate his life and know that his memories will forever dwell in our hearts. There is comfort in knowing that he is now with his Heavenly Father and the seeds which he planted here on earth will keep on growing. Mr. Dennis Karl Jackson, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Shirley Edwards-Jackson of Flint; son, Dennis Karl Jackson, Jr. (fiance Gloria) of Flint; daughter, Patrice Dozier (fiance Antoine) of Avondale, AZ; granddaughters, Tanajza Jackson, Ja'Tazjia Jackson, Denaj'za Jackson, Onysti Dozier; Adopted granddaughters, Katyra Bates, Chyna Smalley, Chania Williams; great granddaughter, Baby Kamari (arriving December 2021); two brothers, Leroy (Valerie) Jackson, Jr. of West Bloomfield, MI; Leonard (Ernestine) Jackson of Las Cruces, NM; three sisters, Patricia McGee of Durham NC; Kathlyn “Kathy” Jackson of Flint and Dzondria “Dondi” Jackson of Chicago, IL; brothers-in-law, Larry Edwards and Murray (Belinda) Edwards; sisters-in-law, Dolly Sturdivant and Lynette Edwards; aunt, Shirley “Katie” Vaughn; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, including special cousin, Sherry “Shay” Richardson, whom he treated like a sister. Mr. Jackson was proceeded in death by his parents, Leroy Jackson, Sr. and Erma Vaughn Jackson; grandparents, Colonel and Evelyn Vaughn, Gilbert and Lenora Jackson; mother of his children, Patricia Jackson.
