BELTON, Pastor David - Age 79, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 PM Friday. December 17, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Friday. Pastor Belton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Thursday. Pastor David Belton was born on August 17, 1942 in Ridgeway, South Carolina. He was the seventh of nine children born to the union of Jacob and Katie Belton. David accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a young age, when he was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in South Carolina. Pastor David enjoyed singing with this family. He was the President and background singer of the well-known group, True Vine Gospel Singers. They had the opportunity to sing locally and all over Michigan. On several occasions the group traveled abroad singing God’s praises. He was a Celebrity DJ at AM 1420 (Monday Night Quartet Hour). David was a Certified Master Mechanic who could fix anything under the sun. His last place of employment was the Kmart Corporation. David also was the co-owner of Faith Boutique. His interests were Gospel Music, Gospel Concert Promoting, preaching the word of God, bowling, watching sports on TV and riding out in the van with his best friend and wife, Mr. K.C. “Weezy” Belton. David also loved helping his sons, David Belton Jr. and Demonté Dequan Belton. He genuinely loved to help people especially his family. His close friends were Carter McWright, Aaron Malone, Pastor Sylvester Miller and M.C. Gatewood. Pastor David Belton leaves to cherish his memory: wife, K.C. Belton; 2 sons, David Belton Jr. and Demonté Dequan Belton; grandson, Jayden David Belton, all of Flint; granddaughter, Kenndi Peters of Dallas, TX; 2 sisters, Mrs. Daisy Boykins of South Holland, IL, Ms. Jessie (Alvin) Belton of Flint; 2 brothers, Mr. Esau (Gail) Belton of Chicago, IL and Mr. Joe N. Belton of South Holland, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins, other relatives and friends. Pastor Belton was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Katie Belton; 2 brothers, Moses Belton and Jacob Belton Jr.; 2 sister, Minnie L. Belton and Roxie Belton.
