Apostle Dana Alan Chaney was born August 27,1959 in Flint, MI, the son of Marion and Cillia (McMullan) Chaney. He was a resident of Flint, MI and graduated from Flint Southwestern Colts "Class of 1977" where he was a lead ranking chess player. As a young man he loved pit bulls and dog breeding was his specialty. He was one of the first and top breeders of pit bulls in the city of Flint. Dog lovers from all over the world came to learn from his expertise. He was affectionately known as "Chops" to family and neighborhood friends. After graduation, Apostle Chaney worked for General Motors for over 20 years. He left General Motors in 2005 for full time ministry and pastored Father in Jesus Christ Church. He accepted Christ at the early age of 5 years old and was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Spirit. In 1987 he rededicated his life to Christ and fully began to walk into his calling as a minister; praying for and visiting the sick and shut in, the brokenhearted and teaching the word of God to many who crossed his path. He was also a part of "Revive Flint", an outreach ministry program where he went door to door preaching the gospel. He never missed an opportunity to talk with family and friends about God's forgiveness, salvation and saving power. He enjoyed studying scriptures, reading as well as collecting faith-based books, being involved in missionary ministries and organizing revivals. Those who knew him knew his passion for God and how much he truly loved the Lord. He was a giver and humble servant to God's people. He sowed seeds in the lives of others by giving of his time, resources, and biblical knowledge. One of his devoted projects was helping build clean water wells in villages for families living in poor countries outside of the United States. He took great delight and joy in making an impact in evangelism locally and worldwide. He absolutely loved people, his family, and friends.
