CRUMP, Mr. Curtis - Age 70, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Five Fold Ministry Christian Center, 8041 N. McKinley Rd. Flushing, MI. with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Juanita Crump, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Crump will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Mr. Curtis Crump was born Monday, November 12, 1951 in Aberdeen, Mississippi, the sixth child of Adolphus and Adella (Blanchard) Crump. Mr. Crump’s early education was attained in the Aberdeen Public School System, graduating from Shivers High School in 1969 as Class President. He furthered his education at Tuskegee University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 1973. Curtis received various accolades and awards for his exceptional athleticism. He was most proud of his induction in the Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009. After graduation, Curtis relocated to Flint, Michigan where he was gainfully employed by General Motors Corporation, retiring after 34 years of dedicated service from Delphi a division of General Motors. It was at General Motors he met his future wife, Joyce. During his tenure with GM he held various managerial positions from Line Supervisor to Human Resources (Labor) Relations. He was very proud to be a recruiter for GM, recruiting students from his alma mater Tuskegee University to the Flint, Michigan area.. After retirement, he was employed by Grand Blanc Schools as a Bus Driver. Curtis, not remaining idle long, served as a Limousine Driver as well. Curtis was known for his ability to express satisfaction or dissatisfaction with political affairs and what was happening in the world at any given time., Curtis enjoyed serving as an Usher in the house of the Lord, golfing, and maintaining a meticulous yard. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Five Fold Ministry Christian Center. Mr. Curtis Crump leaves to honor his legacy and cherish his memories: lovingly devoted wife of 48 years, Joyce Elaine (Burks) Crump; children, Shawn (Timothy) Edwards, Ramona (Tory) Allen and Curtis Garron (Carrie) Crump; grandchildren, Ayindya (Tiffany) Thomas, Cherese Pittman, Timothy II, Trent, and Trey Edwards, Mariah McCain, Gabriel and Kash Crump, Tory and Toraya Allen; great-grandchildren, Ayindya II, Mizahnyi, Zion and Indy Thomas, Anthony Pittman III and Caidence Larach; siblings, Robert (Paulette), Maurice (Janice), Pastors Herbert (Juanita) Crump and Irene (Fred) Jackson; in-laws, M. Denise, Clarence and David (Alisha) Burks, Rita Doyle and Pamela Simpson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends. Mr. Crump was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Warren; parents, Adolphus and Adella Crump; brother, Adolphus Crump Jr.; in-laws, Clarence and Elaine Burks, and Verda Crump.
