WINBORN, Mrs. Charlene E. - Age 81, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, May 20, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Allen C. Overton Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Winborn will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Charlene Elizabeth Winborn was born October 30, 1940 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Eli and Augusta Palmer. Charlene was a resident of Flint, Michigan and attended Flint Central High School. She was employed at Heartland Manor and Chateau Gardens Nursing Facility until she retired. Charlene enjoyed traveling, cooking, going to the casino, gardening and reading. Mrs. Charlene Elizabeth Winborn leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Leon Winborn of Flint; daughter, Brandy Winborn of Flint; grandchildren, NaQuavian “Quay” McDowell, Jalen “J” McDowell and Brandon McDowell, all of Flint; brother, James “Wolfman” Palmer of Lansing, MI; 6 nieces, Katrinia Palmer of Lansing, MI, Deborah Jones of Flint, Sonya Palmer, India Palmer, Kizzy Palmer, all of Lansing, MI and Debra Glaspie of Jackson, MI; 2 nephews, George “Dubie” Jones of Seattle, WA and James Palmer II of Minnesota; 5 sisters-in-law, Sara Palmer of Lansing, MI, Cynthia Palmer of Jackson, MI, Charlene Palmer of Flint, Elvie Kendrick of Wetumpka, AL and GuyEula Winborn of Gadsden, AL; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Mrs. Shirley Elliott, Mrs. Stella Miller, Mrs. Alma Wilson and many, many more. Mrs. Winborn was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Augusta Palmer; sister, Rebecca Jones; brother, Jack Massengale; nephews, Tony and James; nieces, Marsha and Valerie.
