Mrs. Carolyn Ann Wilson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

WILSON, Mrs. Carolyn Ann - Age 65, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Pastor Lonnie Brown, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 1:30 PM Friday. Mrs. Wilson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Carolyn Ann Wilson was born December 23, 1954 in Bolton, MS to the late Tommy Lee Johnson-West and the late Angeline Brown. The family moved to Flint, MI where she grew up singing for the Lord at True Light Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. Marcellus Burkett and later became a member of Kingdom of Heaven Ministries. Carolyn was married at a young age and to this union a son was born. She was a graduate of Northwestern High School, “Class of 1973.” Caroln later married her husband of 37 years, Ralph Clifton Wilson, and to this union three children were born. Carolyn was a beautiful soul who never met a stranger. She had a passion for singing and writing, she also designed beautiful angels and her own line of greeting cards. Carolyn founded Treasure in Earthen Vessels, LLC a personal publishing company which housed her poetry, greeting cards and music development. She was a member of the singing group REIGN for many years as well as a co-writer for many others including Cherelle. Carolyn was featured on TCT Network, CDs such as “Into the Kingdom”, “It Is Written” by the Blue Bell Young Adult Choir and recorded with the Family Worship Center Choir. She has traveled across the globe singing and acting for years while her children were young. Carolyn genuinely cared for her family, taking on the role of being a caretaker to many family members during their time of need. Your first impression of her is warm, beautiful, and everlasting. Just being in her presence truly did shift the atmosphere. She was very soft spoken, encouraging, polite and comforting. Carolyn Ann Wilson leaves to cherish her memory: loving husband of 37 years, Ralph C. Wilson; children, Alghandi (Jessica) Phillips of Lansing, MI, Marlon Wilson of Atlanta, GA, and LaTia (Kamal) Whitmore of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Mary (Cleophas) Brown of Linden, MI, Barbara Kelly of Flint, MI, Alvina Owen of Swartz Creek, MI and Phyllis (Reginald) Berry of Salisbury, MD; brothers, Keith Johnson, Kenneth West, both of Flint, MI, Michael (Melody) West of Farmington Hills, MI, and Sam (Rita) Harris of Brandon, MS; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; special aunt, Doris Williams; close friends, Linda Askew, Gwen Hemphill, Sandra K, Gwen, Neicy, June, Brenda and Tammy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Ralph Dion Wilson; father, Tommy West; mother, Angeline Brown; step-father, Albert Brown; father-in-law, Donald Wilson; mother-in-law, Armertine “Tina” Mabry; grandfather-in-law, Herbert Wilson; grandmother-in-law, Alice Wilson; brothers, Tommy Johnson, Jr., Sterling Johnson, Ervin West and Adreann Brown; sister, Glenda Brown; grandmother, Cora Williams,; grandfather, Rube Williams (1985); great-grandmother, Choicie Perry; special great-aunt, Annie L. Thompson; special cousins, Calvin Thompson, Duane Coleman and Deonta Perry; and friend, Denise Jammerson. The Family would like to thank Dr. Raffee, All Americans Home Health and Hospice Care as well as the staff of Hurley Medical Center, Henry Ford Hospital, and McLaren Hospital. A special thanks to Linda Askew, Apostle Lonnie Brown, and siblings as we worshiped, sang and ushered Mom into everlasting peace.
