BOBO, Mrs. Carolyn - Age 70, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at Mission Point Healthcare. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, September 4, 2021 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with a memorial service commencing at 11:00 AM Rev. Veotis Jones, officiating Rev. Patrick W. Sanders, Sr. Pastor. Family and friends will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Saturday. There will be no public viewing. Ms. Carolyn Hill Bobo was born August 27, 1951 in Covington, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Iola “Sue” Jones Hill and Cornell Hill. Carolyn professed her faith in Christ at an early age at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Covington, TN. There she attended Frazier High School before moving to Flint, Michigan where she graduated from Flint Beecher High School, “Class of 1969.” She became a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church. Carolyn worked for McDonald Dairy before beginning her career with General Motors Corporation where she worked at Engine Plant 36 for most of her career, then going and retiring from Buick City Plant. Carolyn was also a member of UAW Local #599. She loved bowling in leagues with her family, fishing, traveling, going to the casino and planning family gatherings. Carolyn also loved spending time with her family. Ms. Carolyn Hill Bobo leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Terra Bobo of Burton, MI; 3 grandchildren, Tatiana Ulmer of Flint, Treonte Timmons and Trequan Timmons, both of Burton, MI; great-grandson, Demarkus Bracy Jr.; step-father, Charles Elam Sr.; sister, Bertha (Isaac) Elam, all of Flint; 3 brothers, James (Darlene) Hill of Decatur, GA, Charles Roy Elam Jr. and Ray Anthony Elam, both of Flint; 4 nieces; 4 nephews; 6 aunts, Laura Mae Hill of Covington, TN, Ossie B. Dyson, Mattlyne Johnson, both of Chicago, IL, Kay F. Bernard, Bessie Somerville, both of Pontiac, MI and Vivian Williams of Baltimore, MD; sister-in-law, Norris Elam of Mt. Morris, MI; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Janice Rogers, Theresa Bard, Ann Whitaker, Nadine Alexander, Mai Moore and Elder John Thornton. Ms. Bobo was preceded in death by her son, Deravick Bobo; mother, Iola Elam; father, Cornell Hill; niece, Sophia Renae Hill; nephew, Cornelius Deonte Tucker; sister, Arbedella Elam; and grandparents. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren-Flint, Henry Ford Hospital, Missions Point and Heart-to-Heart Hospice.
