Mr. Caleb Toins

TOINS, Mr. Caleb - age 51, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 6, 2013 McLaren-McComb in Mt. Clemons, MI. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday at Freedom Temple C.O.G.I.C., 723 W. Pasadena Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Toins will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Friday with family present from 6-8 p.m. Mr. Caleb Toins, beloved son, brother, father, and uncle, who was born on March 8, 1962 in Flint, Michigan. His long battle with diabetes concluded and he was called Home to Glory. Caleb was a lifelong resident of Flint, Michigan and was employed in both the hospitality and manufacturing sectors. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School. Caleb was always up for a friendly game of dominoes, watching his favorite sporting event with friends and family and engaging in lengthy and spirited political debates. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior at an early age. He was a devoted member of Freedom Temple Church of God in Christ. Prior to his illness, he faithfully attended and served as an Usher for Sunday Morning Worship; regularly attended Monday and Friday Morning Prayer, and Wednesday Bible Study. When a volunteer was needed for prayer, he was always willing to reach out to the Lord; to both thank Him for His many blessings, and to petition Him for the needs of others. He leaves to cherish his memory: son, Scotty Ward; loving siblings, including brothers: Willie Toins Jr., and Joshua (Shelia) Toins; sister, DeLois (Theophilus) Leapheart of Midland, MI; nephews, David Leapheart of New York, NY, Jalen Toins, Mylas Toins, Anthony, Lorenzo and Fred Toins; nieces, Theresa Cook of Gary, IN, Jacqueline Leapheart of Memphis, TN, and Jamaris Leapheart of Midland, MI; as well as a host of other great-nieces including Renee Cook, great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. Mr. Toins was preceded in death by his loving parents, Willie and Rovelia Toins; siblings, Tisha Johnson, Fred Toins, and Ina Williams; special aunts and uncles, Aunt Myties Hart, Aunt Ada (Greg) Rogers, and Uncle Isaiah (Annie) Toins; and nephew, Mayes Toins.
