McFADDEN, Mrs. Birdie Bell - Age 83, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at her residence. Family Hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Phillip Washington, Officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5715 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mrs. McFadden will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Birdie Bell McFadden was born October 11, 1938 in Hope, Arkansas, the oldest of 2 daughters born to Otis McFadden and Emmer (Gamble) McFadden. She grew up in Hempstead County, AR. Birdie attended Hopewell Elementary, Parkland Elementary, Emerson Jr. High and Flint Northern High School where she had perfect attendance where she was very proud of that as was I. Birdie came to know God at early age. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Dozier Memorial CME Church where she served as an Usher and Cook. Birdie was trained as a Nurse Aide and was a Den Mother for the Boy Scout Troops. Birdie obtained employment as a Nurse Aide at Clara Barton Nursing Home for 23 years, she then explored and became employed at Clio Nursing Home where she retired. Birdie loved people, baking cakes and her famous Tea Cake Cookies. She also worked at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, she loved working there and at her church. Mrs. Birdie Bell McFadden leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Phyllis (Richard) McFadden; 2 sons, Duane McFadden, all of Flint and Anthony McFadden of Ontario, CA; granddaughter, Journei O. (Daniels) McFadden; special nephew, Johnnie McFadden; cousin, Jimmy McFadden; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Birdie Bell McFadden was preceded in death by her grandson, Ricky Dew Jr.; parents, Otis McFadden and Emmer (Gamble) McFadden; sister, Carrie Scott; niece, Patricia Scott; nephew, Johnnie Ray McFadden Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Johnnie Etherly, First Hospice Care, Valley On Aging, Reformation Home Health, all the Hurley Medical Center staff that took good care of our mother. Love goes to the Mt. Zion family.
