October 23, 1949 - April 28, 2021

WALKER, Mrs. Bettie Ruth - Age 71, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM, Saturday May 8, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Mark Terry, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 A.M. Mrs. Walker will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 pm-6:00 pm Friday. Bettie Ruth Walker affectionally known as Bettie Ruth was born on October 23, 1949 in Bonita Louisiana to Charlie Leslie Walker and Mozell (Sworn) Walker. After graduating from Morehouse high school in 1968, she moved to Michigan. In 1969, she married her first love, James Howard Dyer. To this union was born two children, Litonya S. Dyer, and Alex K. Dyer. Bettie accepted the Lord at an early age. For over 40 years, she spent her time serving with multiple congregations. Bettie was ordained and certified for Public Ministry and shared God’s love through her words and deeds. Bettie always had a word from the Lord. Bettie retired from a long career as an autoworker at General Motors in 2009. Post her retirement, she dedicated herself full time to sharing the word of God. Bettie ministered to everyone from the youth to the elders. She also enjoyed spending her time caring for her family. Her days were filled with spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bettie brought joy to all who knew her whether she was baking or, cooking for family and friends or ministering to others through kind words. Bettie will be remembered for her love and encouragement. Bettie died at her home in Grand Blanc MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mozell Walker; and her brother, Charlie Walker Jr. Bettie Ruth Walker leaves to cherish her memory: two children, daughter, Litonya S. Dyer and son, Alex K. (Sandra) Dyer; 5 siblings, Otis Walker, Leo (Shelia) Walker, Alphonso Walker, Lizzie (Leroy) Armstrong and Daryl Walker; 7 grandchildren, Qualeena and DeAndre Johnson, Shyiah, Samia, Karis, Savion and Ashton Dyer; 5 great-grandchildren. Bettie also leaves a host of special friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
