Mr. Alvin White

WHITE, Mr. Alvin - Age 71, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, June 11, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with memorial service commencing at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Saturday. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Alvin White was born January 27, 1951 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Edwin Jr. and Ida Mae White. He was the second born of seven children. Alvin attended Flint Community Schools graduating from Flint Southwestern High School, “Class of 1969.” Upon graduation, he began working for General Motors Corporation, retiring in the year of 2000. For those who knew Alvin he was a loyal friend, and a teller of many stories. He always put everyone before himself, even when he was unable to physically be present, you would receive you daily call. Alvin knew and accepted the Lord and he cherished outings with family and friends. He also enjoyed watching sports, WrestleMania, and bowling. Mr. Alvin White leaves to cherish his memory: 4 sisters, Diane Broden, Edwina Sanders, Verbena (Jake Woodall) Watkins and Renee (Lewis) Allen, all of Flint; brother, Lindsay (Regena) White of Louisville, KY; god-daughter, Terria Ali and baby Law of Mt. Morris, MI; special friend, Judy O’Bryan of Flint; sister-in-law, Cleo Thompson of Michigan; nieces, Cherie Vieau of Swartz Creek, MI, Miya White of Flint, Keisha (Alejandro) Contreras of Bowie, MD, Alia Sanders of Ypsilanti, MI and Dominika Davis of Alabama; nephews, Abasi (Nicole) Sander of Toronto, Canada, Alexander Broden, Dante Dobbins, Lewis II, Elijah Allen, all of Michigan, Omar (Clarissa) Dover of North Carolina; a host of many cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends all of whom her loved dearly; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Bernetta Allen, Charles Twitty and Anthony Smylor; special cousins, Joseph Bell, James Henry Jr., Bennie and Joe Jones, the Perry, Boles and Jones families of Flint, the Jackson, Johnson and Griggs families of Detroit, MI, the Stevens family and Marylin Bowman, all of Mississippi, Jennifer Jones of Florida, Eileen, Ermalene and Arthur Jr. Henderson, and Daniel Goliday, all of Muskegon, MI. Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Jr. and Ida Mae White; grandparents, Ed “Papa” and Martha White, Daniel and Maude Jones; brother, James “Sput” White; uncles and aunts, Lindsay “Son” and Edwina White, Albert “Jack” and Louise “Sister” Bell, Harvey and Rolma Jones, James and Luella Jones, Henry Q. and Curtis Jones, Thomas and Mattie Lean Goliday, Eugene and Joyce Johnson; cousins, Albert “Bud” Bell, Mark and Eugene Johnson, and Evelyn Griggs; nephews, Mark D. Vieau and Kenneth Davis.
