Alvin Vickers

VICKERS, Mr. Alvin - Age 52, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Refuge Temple Church of Flint, 4400 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service at 11AM. Pastor Seon Thompson officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Tuesday. Mr. Vickers will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Monday. Mr. Alvin B. Vickers was born April 5, 1955 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Annie Jane Vickers. Alvin was a resident of Belleville, Michigan. He was a member of Pentacostal Tabernacle Church of God In Christ in Flint, MI joining December 12, 1993 and reinstating his membership June of 1997 under the leadership of Pastor Alfred M. Smith. He worked for General Motors Willow Run Power Train Plant, in Ypsilanti, MI, with 30 years of service. Alvin hobbies included listening to Jazz, collecting movies, gardening and playing the drums. He leaves to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Accrell D. Vickers and Quiteka (Johnnie) Milow; 2 grandchildren, Jaque and Jalen Milow, all of Hampton, VA; mother, Annie Jane Vickers of Flint; sister, Sylvia Cabell of Mt. Morris, MI; 2 brothers, Melvin (Penny) Vickers and Maurice (Karen) Vickers, all of Flint; 4 nieces, Kyatonna (Anthony) Wilson of Columbus, OH, Tawana Briggs, Chandra and Jasmine Vickers; 3 nephews, Ivan Hawthorne, Diawa Peacock and Eugene Blackwell, all of Flint; 3 aunts, Devonia Lloyd of Chicago, IL, Rachel Westrock, and Ida Veale, all of Flint; 3 uncles, Joe (Minetta) Vickers of Grand Blanc, MI, Edward Vickers of Mt. Morris, MI and Sellous Vickers, of Flint; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including fiancee' Pam Nickols, special friend, Larry Crane, Michael Jones, mother of children, Alfreda Vickers Jackson, and friends of Belleville, MI and many more. Mr. Vickers was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sandford and Hattie Vickers; aunt, Dorothy Vickers; uncle, James Westrock of Flint and John Lloyd of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Walter S.
