Mrs. Yvwania Richardson

RICHARDSON, Mrs. Yvwania - Age 69, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at McLaren Hospital. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, February 16, 2018 at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral services commencing at 11:00 AM Rev. Dr. Marvin A. Jennings Sr., Host Pastor. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Richardson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday, with the family present from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM to receive friends. Mrs. Yvwania Hubbard Richardson called “Y” by many went home to be with the Lord February 7, 2018. She was born August 29, 1948 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of Jessie and Velma Moore. Yvwania accepted Christ as her savior at the age of 10 years old at Highland Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, AR. She graduated from Townsend Park High School, “Class of 1966.” Yvwania furthered her education and received a Bachelor Degree in Sociology from University of Arkansas, a Masters in Social Work from St. Louis University School of Social Service and attended University of Michigan School of Social Work Continuing Education Program Leadership Training in Adoption and Foster Care, and Spaulding for Children Special Needs Adoption Training the Trainers. Yvwania was employed at Alternatives for Children and Families, Inc., Flint Schools of Choice, Whaley Children’s Center, Ennis and Associates Counseling & Consultation Center, Inc., State of Michigan, Department of Social Service, Lansing Michigan, Genesee County Department of Social Services, City of St. Louis Department of Health and Hospitals, Social Services Division. “Y” was an avid bowler until health issues caused her to quit the game. She enjoyed all kinds of games, cards, Scrabble, watching football games, basketball games and bowling. “Y” was also a CANUSA Bowling Coach. Yvwania (E-won-nia) had a unique name only one other person in the United States had that name. Mrs. Yvwania Hubbard Richardson leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 32 years, Robert Richardson; daughter, Ryann Richardson, both of Flint and Nicole Hubbard of Nashville, TN; son, Michael (Kenotta) Hubbard of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter, Mya Webster of Nashville, TN; sister, Carolyn Washington of Houston, TX; brother, Charles Edward (Mable) Moore of Kansas City, KS; nieces, Sekethia (Eric) Dilworth of Pine Bluff, AR and Rylee Washington of Houston, TX; a host of cousins including special cousin, Faymire (Carol) Thompson-Williams of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Phil and Tanya Hubbard, N.Z. Bryant, Alonzo Duncan, Charles Waddell, Stan Riggs, Sarah Tolbert and J&J Service Station. Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie, Edward and Velma Moore. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Marvin A. Jennings, Sr. and the Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church family, Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart, Dr. Wilfredo Rivera, Dr. Hameem Changezi and staff, Dr. Paul Musson and staff, and McLaren-Flint ICU staff.
