Mrs. Yvonne Royster

ROYSTER, Mrs. Yvonne - Age 57, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, June 23, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Keith Dill, officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Monday. Mrs. Royster will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Sunday 22, 2025 and may be viewed from 10:00AM-4:00PM. Yvonne “Evee” Royster was born on July 23, 1967 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Dock and Livonia Royster. Yvonne was a resident of the City of Flint (5th Ward), during her childhood year and was acquainted in congregation of Jehovah Witness. She was a proud graduate of Flint Central High School, “Class of 1985.” Yvonne obtained her Associate and Bachelor degrees in Business Management from Davenport University. She worked with the Admissions Department at Detroit College of Business and Davenport University. Yvonne later worked as Food Service Director for over 20 years combined with Center Academy, Madison Academy and New Standard Academy. Yvonne was loving, caring, always encouraging and lifting others up. She was a great mother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her children, friends and numerous families and students that she loved throughout her years working at schools within Genesee County. Yvonne was always a helping hand and a problem solver. She also enjoyed breakfast dates to Golden Gate and Flint Farmer’s Market, people watching and trips to Target. Yvonne “Evee” Royster leaves to cherish her memory: son, Brian Royster; daughter, Dionia Royster; brother, Carl (Pat) Royster; nieces, Danielle Royster, Nickole Royster, Sade Fordham and Chante Fordham, all of Flint; nephew, Adrian Royster of California; uncles, Charles Fields and Slyvester Fields of North Carolina; a host of cousins including, Crystal Spencer of St. Louis, MO; sisters-in-love, Jewel Boykin, Brandi Fisher and Angaletta Cheatham, all of Flint; a host of honorary god-children, relatives and friends including special friends, Ressa Connie, Denise Luna, Isis Dudley-Thompson, Adelaida Leaym, “The Crew” and many more. Yvonne was preceded in death by her daughter, Demi Royster; parents, Dock and Livonia Royster; brothers, Donald Royster, Clifton Royster, Gerald Royster and Ronnie Royster; best friend, Delois Smith-Scott. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center and staff, Lawrence E.
