Mrs. Yolanda Demps

DEMPS, Mrs. Yolanda - Age 56, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment, Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mrs. Demps will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Tuesday. Yolanda Lanise Demps was born March 7, 1967 in Flint, Michigan, the first daughter of John Phillip Heard Sr. and Linda Gail Moffett. Yolanda grew up in Flint and was educated in the Flint School System. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1985.” Yolanda also attended Edwards School of Modeling. She was last employed with General Motors Corporation in Flint. Yolanda enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing games and going fishing when she had a secret to tell. She never met a stranger and she kept a smile on her face and could put one on yours too with her personality. Yolanda Lanise Demps leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Leangeles Heard and Andiyahna Moffett, both of Flint; 3 sons, Deangelo Demps of Japan, DeMario Blake and Andrico Moffett; 4 grandchildren, Kai Pitts, Ei’Marri Skinner, Kaeden Pitts and Leilani Taylor, all of Flint; grandmother, Betty Stovall; 3 sisters, Tonya Govereh of Lansing, MI, Candace (Clifford) Ingram and Jasmine Heard, all of Atlanta, GA; brother, Terrance Heard; 4 aunts, Dyann (Bobby) Moffett Neal (her favorite), Marilyn Moffett, Delores Heard, all of Flint and Andrea (Steven) Barnett of North Carolina; uncle, Lamar (Marva) Heard of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friend, James Funches. Yolanda was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Gail Moffett; father, John Phillip Heard Sr.; grandparents, LC Heard, Narvell Sr. and Johnnie Moffett; brother, John Heard Jr.; uncles, Narvell and Robert Moffett.
