WRIGHT, Mr. Willie Clifford Jr. "Bud" - Age 68, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 12:00 PM Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Carpenter Road Apostolic Church, 4010 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM Pastor Mac Gentry II, officiating Bishop John Allen, Host Pastor. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:00 PM Saturday. Mr. Wright will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Mr. Willie Clifford “Bud” Wright Jr. was born September 8, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Rev. Willie Clifford Sr. and Alma Wright. He was a proud graduate of Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1969.” Willie also attended Mott Community College and University of Michigan-Flint. He was employed at Sears where they sent him to school to become a Mechanic. Willie served in the United States Army where he was Honorably Discharged. After being discharged he became a employee of the Flint Fire Department where he served faithfully until retirement after 27 years of service. “Bud” enjoyed working on cars, playing baseball with the Flint Fire League and being on a bowling league. But above all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and Barbecue at Berston Field House on Sunday’s. If he wasn’t at Berston, he would be at home with The Baker St. Family. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Mason’s. Mr. Willie Clifford “Bud” Wright Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: 6 daughters, Andrea (Antonio W.) of Arizona, Niccolle, Kinea, Alea (Antonio M.), all of Flint, Fatima (Keith) Rogers of Tennessee and Shalene (Kawaun) Hill; 2 sons, Willie (Jai) Wright and Richard “Junior” Beason, all of Flint; 19 grandchildren, Ty’Dria, Al’lexus, Dis’Tinee, Ei’yana, En’Finety, My’son, Brian “Bj”, Ki’lea, Za’Miyah, Akila Jesse, Taariq, Kenisha (Rudy), Kendrell, Nikita, Stephanie, Shamar, Brandy, Shakia, Kaniya and Jaquarious; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Deborah Gibson (Robert) of Flint, Annett White (Stanley) of Detroit, MI; brother, Joseph “MoJo” Wright (Tonya) of Flint; mother of his children, Wanda Wright; sister-in-law, Marquerite Amerson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Al Phillips, William Dorsey, Lynn and all the Baker Boys, Kay, Sidney Muldrew, Sandy Mushatt, The Righteous Brothers, Rudy an Ron Thomas. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Singleton-Wright; parents, Rev. Willie Clifford Sr. and Alma Wright; grandparents; niece, Angela Gibson; cousins, Billy Ballad, Celesta Terrell; his best friends, Ms. Audrey and Al McBride.
