WILLIAMS, Mr. Willie Carl - Age 80, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, December 3, 2007 from the ChapelLawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Jeff Hawkins, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Monday. Mr. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Sunday. Mr. Willie Carl Williams was born May 5, 1927 in Holly Grove, Arkansas, the son of Andrew and Sally Williams. He came to Flint, many years ago and was employed at General Motors with 33 years of service. Willie loved playing the harmonica, fishing, hunting, music, working on cars, and especially enjoyed having family gatherings. He was a very kind-hearted easy going person who loved people. Willie would do anything; even go out of his way to help anyone. Mr. Willie Carl Williams leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Rita Williams of Flint; 8 daughters, Carol C. Smith of Detroit, Hope Holmes of Toussaint, AZ, Diane and Brenda Williams, Shirley and Sharon Darrell, ToRina and TaSeena Benton, all of Flint; 4 sons, Danny, Carl T. and Alan Williams, Willie "Bud" Darrell, Jr.; 3 step-children, Eddie B. and Tommy Robinson, Joseph Marks, all of Flint; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; father-in-law, Joe Marks; and brother-in-law, Emmanuel Marks; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, John Boy, Sharon, Charlie Pitts, Dave Benton and Billie Wright. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Andre and Sally Williams; grandsons, Decrai and Antwon Williams; sisters, Martha Anderson, Mary Guy, Emma Williams, Mattie Terry; brothers, Lee, James, Ernie, George and A.T. Williams; grandparents, Bill and Martha Bailey; aunts, Maggie Worth and Lizzie Bailey; and brother-in-laws, Ervin Marks. The family would like to express special thanks to the Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church family, Hurley Medical Center and Hurley Selective Specialty staff, and Dr. Peddireddy.
