Mr. Willie Toins Jr.

TOINS, Mr. Willie Jr. - Age 86, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Wednesday. Mr. Toins will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed during the family hour only. Mr. Willie Toins Jr., beloved son, brother, and uncle, was born on November 27, 1936 in Jackson, Mississippi. Willie Jr. was a lifelong resident of Flint, Michigan, except for time served in the military. After graduating from Flint Northern High School, Willie Jr. faithfully served his country in the United States Army as a Lineman. He was Honorably Discharged. Mr. Willie Toins Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: loving siblings, brother, Joshua Toins of Flint, MI.; sister, DeLois (Theophilus) Leapheart of Midland, MI; nephews, David (Lauren) Leapheart of Alexandria, VA, Anthony (Dawn) Toins of Canton, MI, Lorenzo, and Fred Toins Jr., Scottland Ward, Jalen and Mylas Toins, all of Flint MI.; nieces, Theresa Cook of Matterson, IL, Jamaris Leapheart of New York, NY, and Jacqueline Leapheart of Midland, MI; a host of great-nieces including Rovelia Renee Cook of Indianapolis, IN., and great-nephews; great-great nieces, including Natasha (Donte) Greer of Indianapolis, IN., and great-great nephews; a host of cousins, including Shirley Luckado McReynolds, Greg Rogers, Loretta Jackson, Ann, Jake, Sam, and Billy Toins all of Flint, MI.; a host of other relatives; and many friends, including “daughter” Linda West of Flint, MI. Mr. Willie Toins Jr. was preceded in death by his loving parents, Rovelia and Willie Toins Sr.; siblings, Caleb Toins, Tisha Mae Johnson, Fred Toins Sr., and Ina Belle Williams; special aunts and uncle, Aunt Myrties Hart, Aunt Ada Rogers, and Uncle Isaiah (Annie) Toins; nephew, Mayes Toins; and longtime friend, Herbert Jemison. The family would like to express a Special Thanks to Linda West for taking good care of Willie Jr. in the latter years of his life.
