NORRIS, Mr. Willie - Age 53, entered peacefully into eternal rest Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Brian’s House Hospice. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Brian's House. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at West Carpenter Road Church of Christ, G-2296 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m., Bro. Patrick McGovern, Jr., officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Norris will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Willie Nick Norris was born March 9, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Lessie Mae Needham and the late Louis T. Norris. Willie graduated from Southwestern High School in 1975. He married his best friend Brenda McDaniel on July 27, 1991. Willie was a very faithful member of West Carpenter Rd. Church of Christ. He served in the United States Army and was employed by Canteen Vending Service until he became ill. Willie loved reading and studying the Bible and he was a sharp dresser. He was a strong man and he fought a very long hard battle. Willie loved his wife and family dearly. He leaves to cherish his memory: loving and devoted wife, Brenda (McDaniel) Norris of Flint; 2 sons, Mariyo (Anbrea) Burress of Grand Rapids, MI and Marcese McDaniel of Southfield, MI; grandson, Mariyo Burress, Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI; mother, Lessie Mae Needham of Flint; sisters, Joyce L. Norris of Flint, Linda Norris of Ohio and Clarett (James) Deering of St. Petersburg, FL; brothers, James Norris of Flint, Bandy Needham of Meridian, MS, Louis (Debra) Norris of Houston, TX and Kennis (Tonie) Norris of Fort Wayne, IN; mother-in-law, Starlee McDaniel of Mt. Morris, MI; father-in-law, Fred McDaniel; sister-in-law, Elgean McDaniel; brothers-in-law, Frederick McDaniel, all of Flint, Maurice (Patricia) McDaniel of Indianapolis, IN and Terence (Joann) McDaniel of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends including very special nieces, Shawn Norris of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Charice and Charielle Tenson, both of Flint, Tangie Norris of Fort Wayne, IN and Sandra of Florida; special nephew, Kenny of Flint; godsons, DeMariez Hood and E.J. Little; very special friends, Darryl (Anita) Holt of California, Eric Norris, Patricia McGee and Rose (Al) Barber, all of Flint. Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Zeona Burress; father, Louis T. Norris; grandmother, Luella McCarthy; grandfather, Sam Gill; brother, O.C. Needham; and uncle, Freeman Gill.
