Mr. Willie McGee

MCGEE, Mr. Willie - age 73, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Pastor Ricky Allen officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Mr. McGee will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday. Willie McGee was born on February 1, 1942 in Earl, Arkansas. He was the son of Ed McGee and Ethel Lee Morgan. He moved to Flint, Michigan from Arkansas in the mid-1960’s and resided there until the time of his passing. Willie was a member of UAW Local 598 and worked at the Chevrolet Truck and Bus plant in Flint. Willie retired from General Motors in 2004 after 38 years of loyal service. He was a graduate of Flint Northwestern High School. Willie loved to paint, detail and repair cars. He also loved to travel, go fishing and spoil his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of the Open Word Christian Center. Willie was a dedicated, loving father, brother and friend to all and we will truly miss him. He leaves to cherish his memory four children: Son, Louis B. (Patricia) McGee of Alabama. Three daughters: Doris Kittrell of Texas; Lois (Cari) Washington of California; Deborah (Eugene) Smith III of Michigan. Eight grandchildren: Louis II and Adrian McGee of South Carolina, Malcolm Israel of Texas, Cameron Washington of California, Ebony and Danny Kittrell of Tennessee and Eugene and Dasia Smith of Michigan. Two great-grandchildren, Connor and Chandler McGee of South Carolina. One brother, Cleveland Morgan of Arkansas. Three sisters: Easter Davis of New Mexico, Edna (Albert) Creel of Michigan, Christine (David) McClaster of Michigan. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins including special friends Willie Bell, Charlie Miller, Lucille Anderson, Sonya Bonner, Eric Lucas, and Sheila and Cyrhocia Ward. He was preceded in death by: Grandmother Willie Mae Jones; Father Ed McGee, Mother Ethel Lee Morgan; Brothers Richard McGee, JD McGee, Howard McGee and Leroy Collins; Sisters Pearlie Mae McGee, Mary Warren, and Laura Ann Collins. The family would like to express special thanks to: The McLaren Hospital ICU Staff and the Select Specialty Hospital Staff.
