LAURY, Mr. Willie Jr. - Age 80, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Tranquility House. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, April 11, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:30 AM Friday. Mr. Laury will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Willie Laury Jr. was born October 12, 1944 in Raymond, Mississippi, the son of Willie Sr. and Rosann (Bolden) Laury. In 1963, Willie was united in Holy Matrimony to Belinda Jackson and from this union, 3 children were born. In 1972, he moved to Flint, Michigan and began working for Chevrolet, a division of General Motors Corporation. Willie retired after 31 years of service. He loved cooking and had a signature homemade biscuit recipe. Willie also loved reminiscing about the old days, being around family and enjoyed great fellowship as well as being a practical joker. Watching old western movies was a favorite past-time. Willie graduated from Sumner Hill High School, “Class of 1964” in Clinton, MS. Before his death, Willie accepted Christ. Mr. Willie Laury Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Tanya Laury; 3 sons, Keith Laury, both of Flint, Kevin Laury of California and Dontric (Tina) Dyer of Katy, TX; 7 grandchildren, Antonio Elliott, Kaiesha Laury, DeJuan Laury, LaTonay Laury, Kerianna Laury, Journee Laury, Xyla McElroy of Flint and Tamrin Dyer of Katy, TX; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Georgia (Frankie) Funches of Raymond, MS, Mandell (Eddie) Wilson of Miami, FL and Joann Vaughn; 3 brothers, Vaughn Laury, Melvin (Yvonia) Laury and Kenneth Paul Laury, all of Jackson, MS; 4 sisters-in-law, Ruth Laury of Flint, Billie Jean Jackson, Sonay (Vernon) Jackson-Burns of Smackover, AR and Jenever Jackson Utsey of Burbank, CA; uncle, Joe Frank Bolden of Raymond, MS; aunt, Eva (Rufus) Warren of Jackson, MS; a host of cousins including special cousin, Lee Knapp of Flushing, MI; a host of other relatives and friends. Willie was preceded in death by his wife, Belinda Jackson Laury; parents, Willie Sr. and Rosann (Bolden) Laury; 4 brothers, Robert C. Bolden, Charles Laury, Anthony D.
