HOUSTON, Mr. Willie Dee - age 59, passed this life Monday, June 30, 2014 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with bereavement service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Houston will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday. Mr. Willie Dee Houston age 59 of Flint, Michigan passed this life on Monday morning, June 30, 2014. He was born in Preston, MS on June 21, 1955. At an early age he confessed a hope in Christ. When he was young, he and his family moved to Flint to live. Willie graduated from Flint Central High School and went to work at Chevrolet Metal Fabrication here in Flint where he retired in 2006. On December 13, 1998, he married Miss Sonja Davenport of Flint. This union included 2 step-children and 3 children from a previous marriage and 1 prior to his marriage. Willie was a former member of Church Without Walls of Flint and has since visited several churches in the Flint area. Mr. Willie Dee Houston leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Sonja Houston; 2 sons, Mr. Antoine (Roshonda) Richardson of Burton, MI and Mr. Terrell Houston of Flint; 2 daughters, Tawana Houston of Atlanta, GA and Tonjala Houston of Flint; 2 step-daughters, Jacquetta Davenport of Saginaw, MI and Quaniece Davenport of Flint; 9 grandchildren, Dequan Woods of Kalamazoo, MI, Savannah Richardson, Antoine Richardson Jr., DeShawn Richardson all of Burton, MI, Jerleesha Ross of Flint, Zykee Gee of Flint, Masiah Davenport of Saginaw, MI, Eliajah Mims of Saginaw, MI, and Ne’Vaeh Houston of Flint; 3 brothers, Johnnie Houston, Freddie Houston, both of Flint and James (Joann) Houston of Clio, MI; 7 sisters-in-law, Francine Roberts of New York, NY, Mae Watkins of East St. Louis, IL, Gwendolyn (Alvin) Gatley, Tina Houston, Brenda Clifton and Debra Harvey all of Flint; 2 brothers-in-law, Mike Davenport and Marvin Davenport, both of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Houston was preceded in death by has parents, Bertharine Scott Houston and J.D. Houston; 4 brothers, Harold Roberts, Bobby Watkins, Jerry Watkins and Douglas Houston. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of you for your prayers, presence, love, telephone calls, telegrams, and all other expressions of concern that you have shown during their time of bereavement.
