GRAY, Mr. Willie Jr. - Age 78, passed away Monday, March 15, 2021 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 AM Thursday, April 1, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Bro. Norman Childress, officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:30 AM Thursday. Mr. Gray will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wednesday. Mr. Willie Gray Jr. was born January 30, 1943 in West Point, Georgia, the son of Hattie Gray. Willie moved and was a resident of Flint, Michigan, graduating from Flint Northern High school. He was employed Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation for 43 years and retired in 2006. Willie was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1996 and served as a full-time Pioneer Minister for over 20 years. He was currently serving as Ministerial Servant in the Belleaire Woods Congregation. Willie dearly loved his family and enjoyed reading, watching all sports genres and sharing Bible truths with others. He was dearly loved by all who knew him. Mr. Willie Gray Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 26 years, Ida Mae Gray of Flint; 2 daughters, Makeva (Mark) Nicholson of Dewitt, MI and Cassandra (Michael) McFarland; 2 sons, Reginald Gibson and Antonio (Keta) Gibson, all of Flint; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gwendolyn (Al) Nutall of Flint and Bobbie Gray; brother, Oscar Fred Gray, all of Burton, MI; 2 sisters-in-law, Linda (Charlie) Pool and Jeanette (Lorenzo) Winston, all of Belzoni, MS; brother-in-law, Frank (Fannie) White of Jackson, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Mamie Williams of Greenville, MS, Jack Brown, Lavarne Ross, Donnie Mayfield, Oliver McGee and wife, Darlene and Norman Childress Sr., all of Flint. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his son, Eben Gray; mother, Hattie Gray; brother, Ivan Goodlow; special and loving aunt, Roberta Gray; and loving uncle, John Gray. The family would like to express special thanks to Belleaire Woods Congregation and the many friends and family who have supported us in our bereavement. Also, a special thank you to Marilyn Dukes, Helen Robertson, Fred and Kim Ross, and all the brothers who assisted in transporting Willie to and from treatment locally and in Ann Arbor, MI.
