Mr. Willie Mack Finley

FINLEY, Mr. Willie Mack - Age 65, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, April 10, 2017 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Monday. Mr. Finley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday with family present to receive friends 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Willie Mack Finley was born September 2, 1951 in Meridian, Mississippi, the son of Mrs. Carrie Lee Finley and Mr. Mack Locke. He graduated from Harris High School in Meridian, MS and obtained an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Prince George Community College. Willie served in the United States Army as Staff Sargent from 1970-1977, Self Study and toured Europe from 1977-1979, Policeman with Washington DC Police Department from 1980-1984. He served with The Old Guard where his unit escorted the President of the United States and provided security for Washington, DC in times of National Emergency or Civil Disturbance. Willie was awarded the United States Air Medal for the period of June 7, 1970 to November 30, 1970 and the Bronze Star Medal for the period of June 1970 to April 1971. He retired as a Car Salesman for Randy Wise-Chevrolet. Mr. Willie Mack Finley leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Susan Finley of Flint; daughter, Chivon Oliver of Detroit, MI; son, Willie Mack Finley II of Stone Mountain, GA; 3 grandchildren, Chidia Oliver, Chevelle Oliver and Cherelle Oliver; 5 sisters, Ann (Harold) Jackson of New York, NY, Alma Love of Flint, Emma Louise (Joe) Brown of Weehawken, NJ, Danella (Bobby) Bell of Meridian, MS and Vivian Locke of New York, NY; 2 brothers, Curtis (Renee) Smith of Bronx, NY and Eddie (Diana) Finley of New York, NY; uncle, Peter Lott; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friend, Al Stewart. Mr. Finley was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Carrie Lee Finely and Mr. Mack Locke; mother-in-law, Mrs. Leola Bridges; father-in-law, Robert Hall; brother, Dea. Robert (Louise) Locke and niece, Melissa Love. The family would like to express a special thanks to everyone for their love and concern shown to us in our time of need.
