ENGLISH, Mr. Willie - age 79, surrounded by his loved ones in his residence, went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2007 after an extended and courageous battle with illness. Family hour 6PM-7:30PM Friday, March 2, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 5443 N. Saginaw St. Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Saturday. Mr. English will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mr. Willie King English, Sr., was born to Allen and Mary (Shoemo) English in Uriah, Alabama on August 14, 1927. Willie moved to Pensacola, Florida where he met and married his late wife, Mazie Parris. They later moved the family to Flint, Michigan. The first Sunday after their arrival, Willie and Mazie became members of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a member of Local 599, retiring from Buick with 42 years of service in 1993. He, along with his wife, was a true example of a working Christian faith that truly exemplifies agape love. His unselfish life was a continuous devotion to God, family and friends. Forever will his memory be cherished by his loving family; 3 daughters, Jennifer (James) Parker of Grand Blanc, MI, Sharon (James) Owensby and Leontine (McKinley) Tipton of Flint, MI; 2 sons, Willie English Jr., and Mark English of Flint, MI; 24 grandchildren, Lashaunda, Willie III, Jason, Preston, James II, Bianca, Jade, Ashley, Grant, Trevor, Xavier, Mark, Jermaine, and Darriel, all of Flint, MI; Sabrina, Amber, and Desmon of Ypsilanti, MI; Joseph and Isaiah of Columbus, OH; Raycoa, McKinley Jr., Marcus, and Eric of Atlanta, GA; and Sunni of Laurel, MD. 9 Great-grandchildren; Lamya, Mizahnyi, Jermaine, Damascus, and Shalayna, all of Flint; Brandon and Justin, of Atlanta, GA, Marcus Jr., of Indianapolis, IN, and Marcellous of Ypsilanti, MI; and godson, Kermit III of Laurel, MD. 2 loving and devoted sisters, Ruth Davis of Flint, MI and Lula Boykins of Pensacola, FL; 1 devoted brother, Franklin English of Pensacola, FL. A host of nieces, nephews, and extended family including Kathy, Martha, Kim, Sheila, Bridgett, Joyce, Karla, Dani, Carolyn, Val, Iola, Jerdine, Alzora, Darryl and Joe; special niece and adopted daughter, Constance Welch; special friends, Miss Lee, Mrs. Georgia Hobson, and Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Dismond. Willie was preceded in death by his loving wife Mazie; parents, Allen and Mary English; 6 brothers, William Lee, Curtis, Allen, Gaines, Ed, and Henderson; 2 sisters, Vinnie and Mary; and close friend, John L. Hobson, Sr. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the tremendous love and care provided by Dr. & Mrs. Samuel Dismond, Dr. Elmahdi Saeed, Hurley ICU, CCU & Neuro ICU Staff, Heartland Nursing, Rehab, Home Health and Hospice Staff.
