JOHNSON, Mr. William D. - Age 44, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, March 8, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Minister Tommie Chaney, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Friday. Mr. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mr. William Devon Miller Johnson, known as “Devon” and “Big Will” to many, was born October 12, 1979 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Lydia Rene James and William George III. William attended Flint Northwestern High School and worked at Genesee Packaging until his health declined. William was devoted father and loved his children fiercely. He was especially close to his loving mother and best friend, Lydia, who raised him to be the kind, loving and thoughtful man he was. William was blessed to have found the love of his life in his fiancé, Tonia Hall, who was devoted to him and cared for him until the very end. William, with his contagious laugh and smile that lit up any room, was a friend and confidant to many. Even though he was fighting his own battle with multiple sclerosis, William was always checking in on his loved ones and never wanted to worry anyone. He loved sneakers, jerseys, classic cars and his English bulldog, Blu. Mr. William Devon Miller Johnson leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Lydia Rene James of Flint; father, William (Michelle) George III of Riverdale, GA; fiancé, Tonia Hall of Flint; children, Omunique and William Johnson II of Columbus, OH and Te’Renai Johnson and Angel Hall, both of Flint; bonus children, Bianca (TaSecia) Greenlee, DeAdrian Searcy, Quantrell Hall, Diamond Collins, Charles Collins and Rahaman McClendon, all of Mt. Morris, MI; sisters, Erika James of Flint, Keylla Reed of Surprise, AZ, Kristen George of Union City, GA and Britney George of Marrow, GA; brothers, Brandon George of Marrow, GA and Melvin James of Jackson, MS; aunt, Margaret (Elder Tommie) Chaney of Flushing, MI, Valerie Johnson and Sharon Deloach, both of Flint, Gloria George of Roswell, GA, Claudia Smith of Conyers, GA and Deborah Logan of Burton, MI; uncle, Kindle George of Rex, GA; special niece, Shauntiere Page; nephews, Cinio Page and Jadyn Burns; god-son, DeQuaris Harvey Jr.; special friends, DeQuaris Harvey, Courtney Harden , Corey Hart, Montaque Hart, Suthai Maxwell and Ersken Holmes; a host of other family, friends and loves ones.
