DYE, Mr. William Anthony " Uncle Manny" - Age 68, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, November 28, 2016 at Southeast Christian Church of the Apostolic Faith, 4171 Lapeer Rd., Burton, MI, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. District Elder Kenneth M. Brown Sr. officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Monday. Mr. Dye will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2016. There will be no public viewing. Mr. William Anthony Dye “Uncle Manny” was born November 2, 1948 to the union of Dennis Sr. and Florence Dye. William worked for Fisher Body, a division of General Motors for 25 years. He served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. William was raised in church growing up under the pastoral leadership of the late BT Scott. While he was learning the word through the Apostolic Faith. It brought him joy to cook and assist with selling dinners that supported the financial building fund for Bethlehem Temple. William loved his family; above all his mother, Florence. Spending time with his nieces and nephews taking on the role as a father to them all. During the past nine years he resided with his mother, tending to her needs and wants. “Uncle Manny” enjoyed cooking, sports and laughter; nothing brought more joy to him than watching everyone take pleasure in his food. He helped many as he traveled his journey called life. He was passionate of single mothers and children. Mr. William A. Dye leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Mrs. Florence Moore; sisters, Juan Dye-Smith, Dani Dye, and Rebecca Brown; special nieces, Amaya Dye and Telicia Harris; special nephew, Poriot (Christal) Dye; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends including those who were unable to attend, Mr. and Mrs. Shalanda (Cartier) Conerly of California and Mr. and Mrs. Rene (Paul) Wright of New Jersey; special friends, Leora Croom, Craig Tucker, Theron Young, and Polo. Mr. Dye was preceded in death by has father, Dennis Dye, Sr.; stepfather, Ivan Moore; grandparents, Elder & Missionary Europe (Gertrude) Woods; sister, Juanita Dye-Redwine; brother, Dennis Dye Jr.; uncle, Eural Woods and great-nephew, Evan Dye Jr.
