DENDY, Mr. William Otis Jr., - Age 66, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Ascension Genesys-Macomb-Oakland. Family hour 1:30 PM Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Tuesday. Mr. Dendy will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday. Mr. William Otis Dendy Jr. was born on August 22, 1956 in Flint, Michigan the son of William O. Dendy Sr. and Vera Mae Dendy. William resided in Flint and Detroit, Michigan the majority of his life and passed away Sunday, October 2nd at Ascension Genesys-Macomb-Oakland at the age of 66. He attended Flint Schools and was self-employed as an auto mechanic and all-around handy man. William loved playing the guitar, music, singing and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He loved family-oriented activities, was an exceptional billiard player and was very athletic. His interests including cycling, computer hardware and dressing to impress. Mr. William Otis Dendy Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: 3 sons, William C. Layton, LaTrell C Layton, William Otis Dendy III; 1 stepson, Desi (Marcy) Layton of Bridgeport, Mi; 4 sisters, Vanessa Dendy, Sharlyn (Robert) Byas, Michele (John) Boyd all of Flint, MI and Sonja (Jamie) Garth of Fort Wayne, IN; 2 brothers, Ronald Dendy and Michael Dendy; 8 nieces Otisa and Sharlynn Dendy, Stephanie Beard, Crystal Hawkins-Dendy, Michelle Dendy, Narrielle Wheat, Niome Delgato-Lopez,Trinity Delgato-Lopez, and Tatianna Hill; 13 nephews, Otis (Chantel), Joshua and Jeremiah Dickerson, and Richardo Hart, Antwuan Dendy, Jaylen Wiley, Percy S. Dendy Jr., Ronald Dendy Jr., Dominique Dendy, Manuel Tolon, Jamison Garth, Michael Dendy Jr., and Issac Doan; 8 grandchildren Kentivia Littlejohn, Nyiasiah Layton, Nyamme Layton, LaTrell C. Layton Jr., Cincere Latrell Layton all of Flint, Janila Layton and Telon Boyd of Davison, MI, and Shamyia Thompson of St. Louis, MO; uncle, Willie Coleman; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including Minnie Roundtree, girlfriend of 23 years. Mr. William Otis Dendy, Jr. was preceded in death by: his father, William O. Dendy; brothers, Otis R. Dendy and Percy Dendy, nephew Emanuel Tolon and his grandparents.
