Mr. Wilbert Allen Moore

MOORE, Mr. Wilbert Allen - Age 81, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, March 18, 2023, at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, 6917 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Pastor Floyd Fuller, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Moore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mr. Wilbert Allen Moore was born on January 24, 1942, in Birmingham, Alabama to Cleveland and Lucy Pearl (Harris) Moore. Mr. Moore transitioned this life on March 10, 2023 at McLaren Hospital. He graduated from Hayes high school in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Moore moved to Flint, Michigan in January of 1964, where he began working at General Motor-Fisher body. When Fisher Body Flint closed down in 1984, he transferred to Buick City UAW local #599 Where he retired with 30 years of service. Mr. Wilbert Moore was united in holy matrimony to Juanita (Bender) Moore in 1969 where they shared 21 years of marital bliss and over 60 years of friendship. Mr. Wilbert Moore joined True Light Missionary Baptist Church where he sang with the “Golden Voices Choir” and was part of the Security Ministry. Mr. Moore loved playing cards, going to Hasselbring Senior Center, The Golden Leaf where he played spades and bid whist most of the time. Mr. Moore was most known to wearing his fedora hats. He enjoyed watching old westerns movies, Pro Football, Pro Basketball, and Family Feud. He loved listening to the blues on Saturday Mornings while he cleans his house and spending time with his friends, cutting the breeze.Mr. Wilbert Allen Moore leaves to cherish his loving memory: son, Wilbert A. Moore Jr.; daughter Patricia A. Moore; 9 grandchildren, Darrell D. Charles Jr., Darrien D. Hawkins, Dahleah D. Moore, Delynné D. (Drake) Ellis, Destiny D. Moore, Wilbert A. Moore III, Dinesty D. Moore, all of Houston, Texas, Terre’sha Moore, Tershayia Moore, both of Flint, Michigan; 1 great-grandchild, Erin L. Charles of Houston, Texas; 2 sisters, Melva Lee Jones and Margaret (Houston) Williams, both of Birmingham, Alabama; sister-in-law, Ida Lewis; brohter-in-law, Samsom Bender, both of Tampa, FL a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Jimmy Miller, Welton Lewis and Arthur Collins, Betsy Sims, and Thomas Feaster. The family would like to express special thanks to Juanita Moore, Ann Thomas, Pastor Floyd U. Fuller Sr. and True Light Missionary Baptist Church.
