Mrs. Whimper Jean Jackson

JACKSON, Mrs. Whimper - Age 66, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, January 31, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Willie C. Towner, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Friday. Mrs. Jackson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Whimper Jean (Towner) Jackson was born on October 28, 1958 to Melvin Sr and Levie OD (Townsend) Towner in Flint Michigan. She accepted Christ at a young age and attended church at First Trinity Baptist Church. Graduating from Flint Northwestern High School, Ms. Jackson went on to pursue a career in nursing as an LPN at McLaren-Flint. She loved spending time with her family, reading her Bible, Crossword Puzzles, Bingo, Listening to Gospel and Blues. Mrs. Whimper Jean Jackson leaves to cherish her memory: 5 children, Tojo (Thelma) Towner, LaShanda (Jesse) Richardson, all of Flint, Nikiema (Artrell Sr.) Wesley of Mt Morris MI, Curtis (Gina) Towner and Shatae Towner, all of Grand Blanc MI; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 2 brothers, Debra Towner of Flint, MI, Melvin Towner Jr. of Detroit MI and Willie Michael Towner of Flint; 4 sisters-in-law, Joyce Towner, Gladys (Harvey) Jones, Rose Moore and Earlene Jackson, all of Flint; brother-in-law, Washington (Margarita) Jackson Jr. of Flint; 7 step-children, Sherrod, Kim, Coca, Katrina, Anthony Jackson, Adrian Jackson Jr, Susan Floyd and Andrew Washington; 2 aunts, Alma Mosley of Detroit MI and Irene Nickoles; uncle, Costello (Pat) Towner, all of Newton, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends including special cousin, Brenda Towner and friend, Priscilla Jones. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Cornelius Jackson Sr; parents, Melvin Sr. and Levie OD (Townsend) Towner; grandparents, Willie C. and Gurdie Towner, OT and Mammie Townsend; grandson, Tojo Towner Jr; great-granddaughters, Jannah and Kannah Golden; brother, John Marcus Towner; and 1 step-son, Cornelius Jackson Jr.
