SMITH, Mr. Wayne A. - Age 36, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2005 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, April 30, 2005 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. Mr. Smith will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 9AM-8PM Friday. Mr. Wayne A. Smith was born November 29, 1968 in Flint Michigan, the son of Geraldine Smith and the late A.B. "Red" Smith. Wayne was an entrepreneur of NuSounz Records and Tapes. He rededicated his life to Christ through North Central Church of Christ. Wayne loved the music industry, traveling, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also supported his community in numerous ways, and was a peacemaker. Mr. Wayne A. Smith leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Santana Eden Cook; mother of Santana, Angie Cook; mother, Geraldine (Hooker) Smith; step-mother, Joyce Smith, all of Flint; grandparents, Elizabeth and Dewitt Smith of Oakland, MS, and special grandmother, Mamie Beard; 3 sisters, Regina Smith, Nicolette Smith, all of Flint, MI, Tanesha (Jason) Tharpe of Antioch, TN; brother, Anthony (Latoya) Earnest of Flint; 2 nieces, Daysia Jordan of Norfolk, VA, Quanisha Smith; 8 nephews, Dontrelle Smith, DeVonta Smith, Calvin Smith, Marquee Briscoe, Denzekiel Briscoe, Dalon Anderson, LaDarrius Anderson; 2 aunts, Maggie Anderson and Melverdene Hooker, all of Flint; 4 uncles, Steve Hooker of Flint, Fredrick Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, James (Stephanie) Smith, Dewitt Smith of Flint; numerous cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, prayer partner Antionette Cook; and special longtime friends, O.C., Orin, Gerald, and Deseree. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, A.B. "Red" Smith; grandfather; aunt; 2 uncles; and his cousin. The family would like to express special thanks to Berthand Gaddis, Dr. Paul Musson, the Hurley Medical Center staff, caregiver and sister, Nikki, Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart and the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church family.
