CABELL, Mr. Walter Scott - Age 60, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, January 7, 2008 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Eld. Willie Mae Bacon officiating, Bishop Odis A. Floyd, Pastor. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Sunday. Mr. Cabell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Sunday. Mr. Walter Scott Cabell was born July 20, 1947 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Florence Stoudomire and Woodrow L. Cabell, Sr. He was a resident of Mt. Morris, MI. Walter graduated from Flint Central High School. He was employed with General Motors Corporation, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local #651 and a member of Club Orange Town. Mr. Cabell enjoyed watching football, basketball and boxing. Mr. Walter Scott Cabell leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife, Sylvia A. Cabell of Mt. Morris, MI; daughter, Patrina Cabell; son, Waltee D. Cabell, both of Flint; 3 step children, Kyatonna (Anthony) Wilson of Columbus, OH, Ivan Hawthorne and Diaw'a Peacock, both of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Selah Cabell of Atlanta, GA, Marcus Jackson, Diavonte Peacock and Ayanna Peacock, all of Flint; 2 sisters, Judy (Larry) Mason of Flint and Maxine Stapleton of Kansas City, MO; stepsister, Delores Lynch of Flint; 2 brothers, Lloyd Cabell of Flint and Jesse Cabell of Muskegon, MI; step brother, Arthur Croom, Jr. of Arkansas; nieces, Kim and Danielle Cabell of New York, Tonya (Suave') Bascomb of Detroit, MI and Srene Edwards of Macon, GA; 3 nephews, Airen, Darnell and Lloyd Cabell; uncle, Jessie Stoudomire of New Lothrop, MI; 3 cousins, Frank (Laura Lee) Northington of Louisville, KY, Clarance Northington of Flint and Albert Northington of Louisville, KY; mother-in-law, Annie Jane Vickers of Flint; 3 brothers-in-law, Melvin (Penny) Vickers of Flint, Al Vickers of Belleville, MI and Maurice (Karyn) Vickers of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, James Thomas, Maurice Rice, Tommie Simmons and many more. Mrs. Cabell was preceded in death by: 3 grandchildren; mother, Florence Williams; father, Woodrow Cabell, Sr.; and stepfather, Fred Williams.
