Mother Vivian Fitzgerald

FITZGERALD, Mother Vivian - Age 80, passed away Friday, July 17, 202 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Cathedral of Faith Church of God In Christ (COGIC) Ministries, 6031 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Christopher Martin, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mother Fitzgerald will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday. Mother Vivian Fitzgerald was born June 27, 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Cynthia Robinson and George Jackson. The family later moved to Augusta, GA where she was raised. As a child Vivian loved to skate, she was a very adventurous child. She joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church as a child and was baptized by the late Rev. Calhoun. As a young adult, Vivian moved to New York where she met her husband and father of her kids, Paul Fitzgerald. They later moved to Flint, Michigan to raise their children. She became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and later became a member of Cathedral of Faith Church Of God In Christ. Vivian loved to cook, doing Word Search puzzles, spending time with her great-grandchildren and of course looking out the window of her residence. She was known as “The Neighborhood Watch”. Vivian didn’t miss a thing! She was also known for speaking whatever came to her mind! Mother Vivian Fitzgerald leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Vivian Ann Fitzgerald and Lisa (Eugene) Brandon; 2 sons, Norman (Rosemary) Fitzgerald and Quentin Fitzgerald, all of Flint; grandchildren, Keandre Fitzgerald, Norman Fitzgerald Jr., Astrid Elkins, Ezekiel (Brittany) Fitzgerald, Corinthian Fitzgerald, Nicole (Richard) Jones, Quentin Fitzgerald Jr., Andre White Jr., Charles Fitzgerald Melchizedek, Fitzgerald, Shekinah Fitzgerald, Quatasha Fitzgerald, Hosanna Fitzgerald, Caleb Fitzgerald, Kennedy Hull, Janeen Banks, Earnest Banks, Alicia Banks, Justin Banks, Camille Abron and Kyla Banks; 3 sisters, Margaret Lang of Flint, Betty Ellison of Orlando, FL and Kathleen Wright of Chattanooga, TN; 5 nieces, Dorothy Raine, Sandra Hayes, Georgia Hayes, Wanda Jackson and Connie Cunningham; 8 nephews, Michael Jackson, Robert Hobbs, Jeff Hayes, Robert Hayes, James Jackson, all of Augusta, GA, Michael Lang of Charlotte, NC, Paxton Wright of Flint and Jeremy Wright of Chattanooga, TN; cousin, Robert Gordon of Augusta, GA; a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends including special friends, Liz Osborne, Jean Payne and Eva Perkins. Mother Fitzgerald was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Fitzgerald; son, Paul Fitzgerald; mother, Cynthia Robinson; father, George Jackson; sister, Anna M.
