EDWARDS, Ms. Virginia M. (Savage) "Virgie Mae" - Age 65, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 in Kileen, Texas. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Monday. Ms. Edwards will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. Ms. Virginia M. Edwards was born May 3, 1945 in Oak Grove, Louisiana, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walker, Sr. and Mattie Savage. Virginia lived most of her life in Flint, and attended Flint Northern High School. She was a graduate of Mott College and earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan. Virginia was formerly employed at C.M.H., as a Clinical Psychologist, retiring to Arizona where she continued to enjoy life with her dog “Sabastin”, then relocated to Killeen, TX, where her journey on earth ended. Ms. Virginia M. Edwards leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Telisa Edwards of Flint, Dawn Michelle Williams of Mt. Morris, MI and Maya (Daniel) Franklin of Killeen, TX; son, Roderick “Ricky” (Linda) Edwards of Grand Rapids, MI; son-in-law, Michael L. Williams of Flint; 6 grandchildren, Kimisha Edwards of Tennessee, Monique Williams of Mt. Morris, MI, Tiffany Thompson of Grand Blanc, MI, Dominick Williams of Mt. Morris, MI, DeVonte’ Franklin of Killeen, TX and Ricca D. Edwards of Grand Rapids, MI; 3 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Lula Donaldson, Betty Jean James, Gloria (Yusef Andrew) Taylor, all of Tempe, AZ, Billie Jean Jamison of Flint and Dee (Arthur) Fisher of San Leandro, CA; brother, Leon (Demitra) Savage of Tempe, AZ; a host of nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Andre’ Wilson and special friends, Maxzine of California and Lily McCaine of Flint. Ms. Edwards was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and Walker Savage, Sr.; sisters, Beverly Ann Savage and Ora Dean Hudson; brother, Walker Savage, Jr.; and children father, William Jerry Edwards. The family would also like to express special thanks to the Medical Staff in Tempe, AZ and Killeen, TX, brother, Leon Savage and sister, Betty Jean James.
