EARLEY, Mrs. Virginia - Age 78, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at her residence. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, October 10, 2006 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Earl Fisher officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Tuesday. Mrs. Earley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Ms. Virginia Earley was born on January 29, 1928 in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Mr. Albert Woodward and Mrs. Ruby Kate Thomas. She was a retiree of Genesee Memorial Hospital, and was also employed at Winchester Hospital. Virginia was a graduate of Central High School. She loved gardening and listening to gospel music. Ms. Virginia Earley leaves to cherish her memory: 2 sons, Craig and Dennis Earley of Flint; daughter, Dianne Hamilton of Flint; daughter in-law, Reba Earley of Detroit; step-children, Annette and Michael Earley of Flint and Clarence Earley, II of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, John A. Rodgers, Jr., and Marcus R. Rodgers of Flint, and Megan D. Earley of Missouri City, TX; great-grandchildren, Malek Rodgers, II., and Nia Janee Smith; brother, Charlie (Pamela) Woodward of Flint; 2 sisters in-law, Eleanor Woodward of Pine Bluff, AR and Mary Lou Woodward of Flint; 6 nieces, Sharlene, Wendy, Kathy, Marquita, Althea and Regina; 5 nephews, Eric, William, Harold, Richard and Alfred; 4 cousins, Solomon Jones of Flint, Mark Woodward of Los Angeles, CA, James Scott and Dorothy Bell of Atlanta, GA; 22 great-nieces and nephews; a host of other cousins in Cincinnati, OH, other relatives and friends including Josephine Thompson, Juel Lawson and Dorothy Stacy. Ms. Virginia Earley was preceded in death by her beloved mother and father, Albert Woodward and Ruby Kate Thomas; brothers, Albert and Sam Woodward; sisters, Bertha Woodward and Mattie Jo Little; and 2 great-nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of McLaren Hospice Center and nurses Jania Brooks and Theresa McCreedy for their kindness and loving care.
