ALEXANDER, Mr. Virgil Duane - Age 18, passed away Monday, December 10, 2007. Family hour 10AM Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Vernon Chapel AME Church, 5802 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Min. Herbert Hart officiating. Rev. Ernest J. Garrison, Host Pastor. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Saturday. Mr. Alexander will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Friday. Mr. Virgil Duane "Storm" Alexander was born January 7, 1989, the loving son of April D. Alexander and Michael Brown. He touched the lives of whomever he came in contact with. Always being happy enabled him to spread his love around. The gift of laughter and his smile will be missed. Virgil attended New Berea Ministry under the leadership of Pastor H.M. and Berea Hart. He also attended Vernon Chapel AME Church. Virgil was a 2007 graduate of Flint Central Commencement Academy and was a member of marching band, being a band member enhanced his love of music and dancing, which were his passion. He was also a member of 4U2NV and Anonymous Dance Groups. Virgil was employed by Flint Community Schools "Bridges to the Future" After School Program at Gundry Elementary. Working with the children convinced Virgil to change his intended career to a social worker like his mother. He set his goals high as a former member of Kappa Leadership League. May we all remember that "Storm" lived a happy and complete life. Mr. Virgil Duane "Storm" Alexander leaves to cherish his memory: parents, April Alexander and Michael Brown both of Flint; grandparents, Cheryl Henderson of Crystal, MN, Marilyn Brown, Virgil and Mary Alexander; 5 sisters, K'Esha Brown-Smith, CaSheena Brown, Ke'Ara Brown-Smith, Keosha Brown and Dequandrea Mays; 7 brothers, Michael Brown, Jr., Martres Brown, Kre'on Brown, Aaron Ivory, Andre Perryman, Leandre Crosby and Roy Brown, all of Flint; 12 aunts, Lori (Kirk) Fisher of Flint, Sheila (Michael) McCain of Lincoln Park, MI, Helen Goldsmith, Michelle (Maurice) Leflore, Barbara Goldsmith, Teversa Jones, Kimberly (Shawn) Barns, Elena, Tyra and Michelle Brown, Rene Fisher, all of Flint, Eula Alexander of Grand Prarie, TX; uncle, Ernie (Tamara) Johnson of Flushing; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Wendy, Jessica, Isaiah, Tellis, Martel, Frank, Greg, Deontae, Shika, All Britney's, Terrail, Gabrielle, A?realle, 4U2NV, Anonymous and all his favorite cousins. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Louis Alexander; great-grandmother, Sue Alexander; aunt, Lynn Patton; and uncle Robert Jones.
